Unit1126PLL
Hello everyone, I've played Warhammer 40K since the end of 3rd/ beginning of 4th editions and after ALL THOSE YEARS playing Imperial Guard, I decided that a Iron-Hands-Like space marine chapter was finally within my mental and financial grasp. So, here goes: FLUFF: Name: Logicians Homeworld: Concordia, a knight world of the Adeptus Mechanicus (one of the agri-worlds in the trade web of a forge-world). Also where my Guard regiment comes from. (1st Concordian Armoured) Near Mordia and the Eye of Terror, roughly. Colors: Black primarily as a sign of that not known, with white and silver highlights representing streaks of knowledge in the darkness. Chapter Symbol is a Lambda, because it is the first letter of the Greek LOGOS, as well as their chapter name. Culture: Due to their successor status to the Iron Hands, the Logicians suffer from the curse of believing that their flesh is weak. Well within their means to replace it, they often embrace the mechanical in the same manner. They have a hatred for religion, seeing it as a crutch for the weak of intellect. They respect the Emperor as the pinnacle of human evolution, but no gods rule their lives. Only Logos, their perception of the spiritual manifestation of reason. Strategy: They embrace plasma and laser technology, ensuring that every member is trained in the use of a plasma or meltagun before rising to a plasma cannon, lascannon, or multimelta. Those fortunate enough to be selected for duty as a Tech-Marine in the chapter are used as assault troops: equipped with thunder hammers and escorted by heavily armed servitors, the tech-marines provide the spearhead duty in the same manner of the Terminators of other chapters. They are given their pick of transport vehicle for this duty as well from the Armoury. Important Characters: Chapter Master Atrophos, current chapter master and holder of the Staff of Illuminating Reason (counts as master-crafted thunder hammer). Tech-Marine Molon, current commander of the 1st Company and Illuminator Primus. Founding Chapter Master Diomedes, former Terminator-armored veteran from the Iron Hands Kaargul Clan Company and founder of this chapter. History: Although victorious in many fights, the use of vehicles and the tech-marines in the vanguard of the assault has increased casualties among the latter, even more reinforcing their bond to the Mechanicus for replacements. Seekers of knowledge, some tech-marines-in-training are sent to guard the Explorators during their period, giving them valuable experience in the field. Other tech-marines are trained by the enginseers which accompany the planet's Guard tank regiment in the art of repair, keeping the vehicles which are only knocked out from being written off. The Logicians are still trying to prove themselves worthy of the honor of serving the Emperor and bringing Light to the Darkness. GAMEPLAY: Codex: Black templars. The main reason is two-wound Techmarines with access to the armoury, and Power of the Machine Spirit on the lesser tanks. Tech-Marine Molon is therefore able to wear Terminator armor, for example, and other techmarines can carry storm shields, combi-meltas, et cetera. Proliferation of plasma weapons, including plasma cannons and plasma guns. Increased proportion of lascannons, including the Annihilator, Land Raider Godhammer, and lascannons carried in squads. Few Dreadnoughts and Veterans: the Chapter is relatively young. Plenty of high-technology armour, including Terminator Armor in large amounts, Power of the Machine Spirit on Annihilators, et cetera. SO: What do you guys think? Too on the wacky side like most DIYs? Too mainstream? Wrong codex? NightrawenII
Hello. This should be in the Liber Astartes forum. Homeworld: Concordia, a knight world of the Adeptus Mechanicus (one of the agri-worlds in the trade web of a forge-world). Also where my Guard regiment comes from. (1st Concordian Armoured) Near Mordia and the Eye of Terror, roughly. Why? Knight-Worlds are in fiefdom of Admech. If the Concordia became homeworld of Astartes it will change the proprietor and because the homeworlds of Astartes are subject to the Aptus Non tithe (= zero), there will be no Imperial Guard regiment from this point onwards. Chapter Symbol is a Lambda, because it is the first letter of the Greek LOGOS, as well as their chapter name. Ho-ho-ho ;) Lambda or Lakedaimonoi is the name and symbol of Ancient Sparta. Those fortunate enough to be selected for duty as a Tech-Marine in the chapter are used as assault troops Yeah, because sending a technicians into front lines is always smart. Btw, the Iron Hands don't have a Techmarines or at least not normal Techmarines. Although victorious in many fights, the use of vehicles and the tech-marines in the vanguard of the assault has increased casualties among the latter, even more reinforcing their bond to the Mechanicus for replacements. Techmarines are trained on Mars (or more presumably on the nearest Forge World). What do you guys think? Too on the wacky side like most DIYs? Too mainstream? Wrong codex? Wrong direction, so to speak. When you are writing background for your Chapter, you are writing background. Not codex-excuse, not unit-justification and ad nauseam. It often results in bad writing and distracts you from what is more important, the nature and character of Chapter.
