FenrisWolf
Question: On page 67 of our codex, there is a wolf priest model with a crozius arcanum and bolt pistol (top right of the page). Does anyone know what model this is? Is it an old GW model or some conversion? Night Runner
The model you are referring to was a limited edition Wolf Priest given out at Games Day over a decade ago. It was never for sale in stores or on GW's site. It does pop up from time to time on Ebay though but at a steep cost. Edit: I could not have been ninja'd by a better wolf! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221982-wolf-priest-model-in-the-codex/#findComment-2652365 Share on other sites

Emperor's Scourge
They go for tons of cash on eBay. Its a shame since its the only WP model in PA, but the wolf helm in the Space Wolf Pack box allows for some decent conversions. There is also Ulric mini, which makes a decent Wolf Priest, except that he's armed with plasma pistol, which is not a big deal to cut off and replace with bolt pistol. Although I am not SW-player, I like the idea of DIY-ing one using the said wolf helm. He's a Wolf Priest after all, the wolf head suits perfectly. Way1and
I wonder why GW doesn't do plastic kits for librarians and chaplains like they do for the space marine commander. Then again, I'm not sure I'd shell out $25-30 just to get a proper wolf-skull helmet for my wolf priest... No that comment was directed at building a plastic Librarian or Chaplain like one can now build for C:SM usually UltraSmurf but can be Vanilla SM Captains. The model you linked was originaly a Space Wolf Captain model but is now titled Wolf Guard and is metal and not plastic. The bit everyone wants to get is a suitable Wolf Skull Helmet that is "standard" amongst Chaplains (skull helmets that is, Space Wolf equivalent is a Wolf Skull) without having to have a Masters Degree in GS sculpting or finding and modifying a suitable skull bit from another gamin line to use as said "grail bit" in creating/customizing a model for ones own. That helmet is now available in plastic on the Grey Hunters box sprue. It's a Wolf's Head helmet and NOT a Wolf's Skull. Go have an ale and sit in a corner for a bit  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221982-wolf-priest-model-in-the-codex/#findComment-2653647 Share on other sites
Crimson Fisting
Wolf Priests don't necessarily all wear wolf skulls. Everybody just assumes that because Ulrik does, but that's Russ's old helm. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
Wolf Priests don't necessarily all wear wolf skulls. Everybody just assumes that because Ulrik does, but that's Russ's old helm. We have 2 Wolf Priest models. 2. Both of them wear wolf skulls. In the fluff they are described as wearing wolf skulls. so it isnt that far fetched that the image of wolf priests wearing wolf skulls is a common image for us Wolf players. Gv0zD
In the fluff they are described as wearing wolf skulls. Wasn't it said in the latest Dex that WP wear skull-embossed armor, not a skull-helm? Or where else I can look up for this info? Loki-LaughingDeath
Traditionally the Wolf Priests wore the Wolf Skull helms into battle or went without like the art work from our previous codex. This went all the way back to Second Edition. Be thankful for what you have now. With the plastic kits you can build more to your tastes, and not have to use a special character every time to proxy your priest. They are the guardians of Morakai they wear skulls (lots of them) to show their enemies what awaits them.... death. Emperors Immortals
Waaay back in time, a young boy saw a picture of Ulrik and it changed him forever.
