Have our Furiosos suddenly gotten older?

---A "minor" spoiler in the soul hunter novel... Nothing that affects the story though.

In the book soul hunter a night lord dreadnought fights a BA dreadnought somewhere in the ending chapters of the book... and apparently they fought eachother at the gates of the emperors palace when they still were "alive"... So that BA dreadnought was 10k years old

And this strongly suggests that the furioso pilots are 10k years old

personally i think that GW needs to have a small talk with the BL writers...i think the authors are kind of going a little bit over board with some things like that. i've got no problem with the chasis being 10k+ years old, but the pilots surviving 10k+ years of battle...just very statistically unlikely (this coming from a guy who hates numbers.)

I don't see why they would not be able to survive that long. During the time of the great crusade when the geneseed was pure pretty much the only way a space marine died was in combat, old age was not an issue as they just did not age. And nothing says there is some upper limit on how good you get in combat. There is nothing to say you cannot just keep getting better and better until there just is no opponent that is going to be able to best you just because there is literally no move you have not seen before and bested. Sure, rules wise it would be op as all get out, but fluffwise it works. Sure every so often a lucky shot will get thru, but when you are encased in Adamantium it would really take a heck of a power hit to take you out.
