Mephy

I don't think he can be anywhere near Dante's age: he was attached to the first company during the scouring of the Sin of Damnation 400 year ago, but he was still only a Lexicanium at the time: the lowest rank of Librarian. I don't see him being any older than 600, possibly even less than 500.

Dante has been Chapter Master for over a thousand years. Lysander who was lost in the warp for a thousand years cannot remember a time when Dante did not reign over the Bloods Angels. Figure as Lysander is a Captain he is at least two to three hundred years old. Also count that Dante was probably not made Chapter master in less then three hundred years and you have Dante at 1400 to 1600 years or more easy. Now, Mephiston have only been Mephiston since 941.M41, which is what 58 years? Prior to that he was still just Brother Calistarius. Even if he was old at that point, say 500 to 600 years old, he is still a young blood compared to Dante. And he is likely much younger then that. When it comes to Dante, everyone is a youngster that has not been intered in a Dreadnaught, and even most of them are probably younger. He is one of the few Chapter Masters so old that his exploits before becoming a chapter master have faded into history and accurate records cannot be found. And while Blood Angels are long lived for space marines (average marine gets to between 200 and 300 years old, Blood Angels can break 1,000), Dante blows even that out of the water.

his fluff now also states (if i understood it right) that he basicly keeps going because he thinks the emperor will need the blood angels soon. so more or less hes staying around based on pure willpower? or am i not reading that right? :D

No, that's just his way to say: "Get off my lawn!"

Sorry, it had to be done..

Also, check my quote in the signature from the BA Codex. He calls himself 'eleven hundred years'. Or at least, that is the time he has been fighting.

Only thing is: It's not clear when he said this.

Mephiston has to be a time traveller for this timeline to work if you include Space Hulk fluff.

But its ok.

Space hulk is ~1100 years prior to 'Modern' 40K. So We know Mephiston is older then that. Or rather Callistarius is, Mephiston has really only been around since armageddon.

Edit:

Dem I think that it only says at the start of the Alchonis Campaign. Which we know takes place after Mephiston becomes Mephiston cause they talk about the Alchonis campaign in thebooks. (And if Im not mis remembering dont they say some of the Space Hulk Dudes are Alchonis Vets too?)

No, the back story puts the disaster at Secoris at 1003 years before 'Modern' 40k - but the actions depicted in the game are when the Space Hulk reappears 600 years later.

Yes but they only send Vets from teh first one back into the second dont they? QED Calistarius had to be in the first?

Er.. in a word.. No.

Only 50 marines survived the disaster at Secoris.

During the rematch they sent in 80 Terminators.

guess thats what I get for trying to remember things. :o
