About to start to make make my Honor Guard

So I'm about to start my honor guard, who will be heavily Magnetized (Arms/Backpack) But I have some questions...

Would you guys use DC bodies, or SG Bodies? I see the SG bodied as more being Artificer armor which only SG get....but it would make them unique.

My plans are to equip to start something like

1 - SS/LC

2 - SS/LC

3 - SS/Melta

4 - PW / Banner

5 - Noviate gets nothing

Might be different not sure yet, I do want them to be a CC monster to go with my Librarian in a Storm Raven, I want to make sure they are striking faster than I:1, and I'll let the Libby with Sword/Rage hurt things like Dreads if it comes to it.

But I don't know where to get LC's.... I know I can get on the commander box, which is sort of an up in the air pose, and I've seen people cut them off of Termies... but those are huge... there are SO many marine choices in SO many codex that can use LC's but they don't seem to make them really...

Same with Storm Shields I have no idea where to get them, I was thinking of possibly using Shields from Scibor but they are much more Dark Angelly than BA so I might not... but I'd love to hear what others are using.

not very helpfull perhaps from my part but i have to ask:

why the fascination with stormshields? ive seen multiple people do it and can only guess that its for wound allocation. i can somewhat see that but the unit wont be putting out as many attacks as they could. which is something you might want with the kinds of weapons that you gave them :)

specialy when theyre babysitting a character. a deathstar unit isent a deathstar unit if models only have 2 baseattacks a piece (imho anyway...)

also if you want to make every model unique for wound allocation give 1 of the SS/LC models a meltabomb :) as it stands now those 2 will have to catch a good 40% of the incoming attacks, instead of each 20%

Lightning claws are indeed a nightmare to get hold of. I ordered several of the ones from the Commander box but they are obviously only for one arm (left?). I have no idea where to get the other arm from. I also bought the combat shield arm from the command squad box, which I use as a storm shield (I doubt anyone will object).

Storm shield gives them some "Staying" power if they happen to get charged or shot at things that blow through normal armor, or provide instant death"

Your probably right about mixing in Melta I should either make it shooty or choppy not both.

So What you get from these guys, I wasn't also thinking about wound allocation but thinking about it now....

LC/SS

LC/SS/Melta

PW/Banner

PW

Noviate.

On the Charge:

8 Str 5 Power weapon attacks Re-rolling Hits and Wounds

10 Str 5Power Weapon Attacks Re-rolling hits

6 Str 5 Normal Attacks re-rolling hit

6 Str 10 Power Weapon re-rolling Hit attacks

I don't know seems pretty "Hammery", and with 2 SS's gives me a chance to take some heavy fire, or at least allocate some of the power weapon attacks back to them

sems ott to me but regardless i would give the banner bearer a storm sheild and a claw and give the powerweapon to one of the otherguys. he should be one of the last to have any type of wund on him so youd be as well. and also a fist/ hammer would really help if you got stuck in cc with a dread/ mc/ctan or the like, never mind insta killing characters...

Good point about the Banner, the reason I didn't give them the SS is because those are the units that I'll be assigning instant kill / ignore FnP shots to SS people, I don't want to give a unit that ignors FnP to the Banner carrier.

The reason I don't have a Hammer/PF is because I'm using the Libby for the Str10 Init 5 attacks (Assuming I don't get cancelled out by something) so that when I charge units like Termies I stand a good chance of killing them outright.
