Lord_Edgimus
Well being the good little sheep i am i bought another new product from games workshop in an attempt to have one of everything. (still gotta make a jump pack chaplain and librarian too though) however i've run into the dilemma, i am unsure what colours to do the chasis, i've always been a believer of what our codex depicts that each specialist gets their specific armour colour, full blue for libby, full black for chaplain, white apoth etc and i've coloured my zeke, termie librarian and termie chaplain accordingly. but i'm wondering if i should imitate GW and make the chasis for the dread bone white with a blue area in the centre or, do a whole blue chasis for my dread, the other thing i was tempted to do was have a bone chasis but blue shins and wrist guard. any thought would be lovely, i've attatched a pic of the work in progress, i ain't a great painter so i'll take any tips on that too :D couldn't get the image attatchment thingy to work, here's a link http://img11.imageshack.us/i/p1000567t.jpg/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222177-dark-angels-librarian-dread/ Share on other sites
HJL
did gw say we can now use librarian dreads or is this a group thing? i believe that all librarians are members of the deathwing but librarians usually use blue. in fact the terminator librarian in the codex is blue. if i were you id go with a blue dread with a dark angels green shoulder pad. Lord_Edgimus
nah we don't get to use the model, i simply get them for my collection, i've got a techmarine on a bike as well that'll never see the table for a while and a set of blood angel sanguinary guard painted up as a deathwing veteran assault squad, just a chance to have nice looking models tbh Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222177-dark-angels-librarian-dread/#findComment-2655782 Share on other sites
Frater Uriah
Maybe he's the remains of Brother-Lexicanium Acutus, from the Battle of Koth Ridge. Then he can cast Gate to Infinity, which we're not allowed to use in our Codex either. <mutters under breath like Popeye> Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222177-dark-angels-librarian-dread/#findComment-2655790 Share on other sites
Grand Master Neo
any thought would be lovely, i've attatched a pic of the work in progress, i ain't a great painter so i'll take any tips on that too :(couldn't get the image attatchment thingy to work, here's a link http://img11.imageshack.us/i/p1000567t.jpg/ looks like you may need to water down your paints a little more. good tip i picked from a guy doing a chemistry masters in uni said that dettol multi-surface cleanser has the exact chemical makeup to thin out GW paints and make them stick better as for tips it depends what kind of feel you are going for. i personally like a dark gothic feel to all of my models so basecoat all of them with black then gradually build up the layers colour by colour Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222177-dark-angels-librarian-dread/#findComment-2655943 Share on other sites

pueriexdeus
After trying out an all Blue Libbi Dread for an Apoc game, I had to re-evaluate. It looked just a wee bit, well you know blue. So I went with a Black/Blue motif instead. http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm71/pueriexdeus/IMG_1141.jpg BTW, looking on the GW website I cant find the Libbi Dread, can you post a link to it? Lord_Edgimus
yeah i mentioned the one on the GW page, but just changing the red to bone white, where i've changed it is the front librarian symbol with the skull and keys has a green background to it and the skull and keys are gold, i've also changed the wrist armour to blue, and i think changing the shin armour to blue might help as well, means there's enough colour to show librarian and deathwing on the model. thanks for the tip on thinning paints, i use vellejo (sp) paints as well, but i felt that the bonewhite wasn't going on well because it was too watery, probably just needed to give it a few more coats or use a different base than dheneb stone Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222177-dark-angels-librarian-dread/#findComment-2656423 Share on other sites
Tanhausen
Vallejo are a bit tricky, because you have to shake them properly so what comes out is not "coloured water". For my DW I base coated with VAM Flat tan and worked quite well. Actually we can... In Apoc Games since you can use model from whatever codex. I also plan to make Libby dread (I can imagine an old keepers of the keys yummy) and also a LR Redeemer and a thunderfire cannon... Lord_Edgimus
here he is beside his dread brothers, i'm happy with the amount of bonewhite vs blue, helps him stand out as a librarian, still got detail to work on http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/6302/p1000582gw.jpg http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/1791/p1000583.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222177-dark-angels-librarian-dread/#findComment-2657866 Share on other sites
