Alphz
I'm completely perplexed as how to achieve model the tiny little studs that space marines commonly sport on their equipment and armour. Not the heresy studs but the even smaller ones that are one extra armour plates, boltguns, the shoulder pad bandings. They just so damn tiny... If you need I can try find pictures of what I mean. But basically just check out a bolter and those tiny little nobs in the corners are what I'm basically after. ravenguard2010
I've managed this kind of thing before by getting a cocktail stick, putting it point first into some undiluted PVA so that there is a bit on the tip. Use that to add a tiny blob. Leave it to dry, and it should look like a little rivet/stud etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222186-how-do-you/#findComment-2655890 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
And we did not check the Librarium before asking, because? ;) http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...showarticle=716 There are of course many ways to do it, but that's one. Alphz
I did Brother Nihm! Those are the 'big studs'... Where as I am after the little ones you find on extra armour plates, the bolter or backpacks. These little fellas (on the backpack) Credit of picture is to Sioka from this thread Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222186-how-do-you/#findComment-2656071 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
Ahh, You can buy thin plastic rod and file them so that they are round + cut them. or Use small drops of glue as has been mentioned. or If you can, get your hands on a rivet maker used for miniature tanks etc. Greif used to make some, but they went out of business. Maybe someone out there know of a replacement. or Roll up small balls of greens stuff and cut them in half. Requires a scalpel and steady hands. Alphz
Yes rivets! thats the word I was after. Hmm yeah, I have tried the greenstuff roll and then slicing. But I find it very hard to get it thin enough to replicate the rivets and then they are squareish. I could try the ball idea but that would make it very challenging to achieve consistency. I was hoping there was a good method to achieve consistency. Ball point pen maybe?? Tanhausen
You guys know the Britta water kettles? The filters are full of tiny balls that happen to be perfect for what you want to do ;) BTW, if that pic is yours, thats a very good looking true scale! Alphz
http://www.scalehardware.com/miniature-rivets-c-10 I'm astonished they make rivets that small... Thanks Kurgan, I might actually go with that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222186-how-do-you/#findComment-2656348 Share on other sites
