henrywalker
Hi, I want to enter armies on parade with my blood angels and death company. They have lava bases and i'd like to model them on a volcanic board. I need some suggestions as to how to model it. I was thinking having a volcano in the back corner with steppes for the army to stand on. I've never (successfully) modelled much terrain before and any advice would be great Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222189-armies-on-parade-help/ Share on other sites
Tanhausen
Maybe a volcano would require too much hight to seem in propotion... Have you thought of simply a lava field? It will be nightmare to higlight your models accordingly with light source and the rest though... Montuhotep
I may have it wrong, and hope I have, but aren't you restricted to using the two boards that come in GW's 'Battlefield Expansion' pack? My be problematic if so - instead of a volcano, how about an open side vent or larger lava flow? A combination of something like these: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222189-armies-on-parade-help/#findComment-2656425 Share on other sites
DV8
Mentioning the Battleboards was just GW's way of pitching more products. The only reason they mention it is because each panel is 2' by 2', which is the maximum size allowed for the Armies on Parade display board. To the OP, the best way is to measure out a 2' by 2' space, arrange your army, and figure out how much available space you really have. Then figure out how you want to display the army within the given board and that'll give you an idea of what kind of details you have room for that will really showcase the army.
