First Tourney, Some Bat-Reps.

So a few weeks ago I posted a couple threads (one in army list and one for tactics here in the Blood Angels forum. I want to thank everyone who took the time to add their 5 imperial credits to those threads. Some of the suggestions really helped me out today. Shout out to Black Orange and Morticon as several of their suggestions were used.(I actually didn't follow one of BO's suggestions and it came back to haunt me.)

It was a 2000 point doubles tourney with each player taking 1000 points each. The FOC was wacky as well, but I shall not get into specifics about all that.

After much fretting and thought I decided to field the following.

Mephiston

Priest/Jpack/LClaw

Priest/Jpack/HandFlamer

Furioso Dread with Blood Talons (this was a last second substitute for a JP Chappy with melta bombs, best thing I did all day!)

10 Assault Marines Flamer/Melta Fist

10 Assault Marines Flamer/Melta/PwrSword

My Teammate for the day was a veteran IG player.

His list (forgive my ignorance of IG)

HQ guy with a melta squad in a Chimera

1 group of vets with Plasma in a Chimera

1 group of vets with Melta in a Chimera

1 group of vets in a 3 twinlinked lascannon Vendetta/Valkrie/flying pain plane of doom

Russ Battle Tanks Hvy Bolters Cannon

Russ Siege Tank Hvy Bolters Bigger Battle Cannon.

Our basic plan was to let me be the Hammer and He be the Anvil. But you know what they say about the best laid plans....

The teams were a nice mix.

Chaos Marines and Salamanders

Tau and Nids

Tau and Blood Angels

Tau and Space Wolves

Orks and Wolves :tu:

Yes you read that correctly....3 Tau armies... :D

So with that scroll down to the next post where the Mighty 11th company and the "Emperors Justice" -_- (he thought of name not me!) finally take the field...

(Splitting bat reps into separate posts for ease of reading.)

OK here we go, forgive me if this seems disjointed, it was my first tourney and it will be hard to remember.

First opponents Chaos Marines and Salamanders.

Lists were roughly.

Chaos Maines

Lash Prince with Mark of Salanesh and wings

Some Korn Zerkers ? (3 attack furious charge WS 5 guys) in a possessed rhino.

Some Chosen ? (Out flanking marine guys)

A demon that took over a champion.

3 lascannon Predator

Some regular chaos marines

Some Terminators with a Assault Can and a Cyclon

Salamanders

Captain on a bike with a relic blade.

2 10 man tac squads

some assault marines (which I found insuting  )

Scouts with Sniper/Cloaks

Dread with MultiMelta

Again very rough, but you get the idea.

Spear Head Deployment with Objectives game type (4 objectives)

We set up both objectives in the IG parking lot and they set theirs in their deployment zone, roughly 18-24 inches apart.

IG sets up the normal russ on the far back of our zone, and I for some reason I do not know place my Furioso right beside him...

I place a Assault Squad as far forward as possible in our zone and close to our board edge.

Chimera's control both objectives. Vendetta sets up and scout moves to lay the pew pew into the lascannon pred.

One Assault squad goes into DoA Deep Strike mode.

Mephy sits inside the Assault squad for cover and FnP. (read that trick here, go BnC!)

They set up all over the place. The Zerkers in their rhino at the very front corner of their Deployment zone (out of the 12" circle).

Demon Prince Next to that.

So overall great set up for us right!? He can blast that rhino with the Russes and I can multi charge the prince with the marines and Mephy and we will be off to the races.

The roll to seize and hit a.....................6

Turn 1.

ChaoManders

Their front line moves up. Rhino w/ Zerkers moves 12, princes moves 12.

Their back lines shuffle a bit but nothing of mention.

Lascannon Pred shoots and Vanquisher Russ and ...Blows the damn Turret off. :o

Prince casts lash and Mephy hoods it. (I cackle to myself)

Turn1

IG-Angels

Dread takes off 6 and then runs a big 1inch...

For some odd reason my assault squad doesn't do a damn think and just sits there twiddling it's thumbs.

Mephy takes to the skys and lands roughly 7 inches from the Prince.

IG fires into the Rhino wrecking it and out pours 10 very upset zerkers.

The Valk/Detta dtops off its melta squad onto a ruin to fire at the DP and moves around and opens up it 3 twinlinked Las. 1 of which his the pred side armor which ....stops it from shooting for a turn.

The melta squad takes a wound off the DP, but forgets a dreadnought is in Charge range...

I fleet Mephy 6 which puts the DP nicely into my charge range.

Move into assault, DP fails transfixing gaze. Passes Sang Sword, I smile.

Chaos Marine asks what Mephiston does.... (he has played Ard Boys so this isn't a new guy), I explain... he pales.

Mephy takes all but 1 wound of the DP, the DP poops his pants and wiffs everything on Mephy

I consolidate a WHOLE 1", I now await the Zerker counter charge, I wanted to protect mephy, but it SEEMS it wasn't meant to be.

Turn 2

ChaosManders

Zerkers open up into.....my Assault squad...

I learn how to roll ones and lose 4 friggin marines to BOLT PISTOL FIRE.

SalaDread moves up through cover and pops a IG with hits MMelta then charges in.

Nothing else of major mention in shooting.

Zerkers charge into close combat with the shot up Assault Squad and actually wif enough attacks that I make a job out of it and hold, even taking me a couple of them with me. (Go GO FnP)

SalaDread smashes 3 guardsmen who run straight into their CCS (yay)

.

Turn 2 IG-Angels.

Furioso moves six and runs....1 (sigh)

Russ fires at some of the CMarines in the open and ...misses. (sigh)

IGFlying thing fires 3 MORE TWIN LINK LASCANNONS into the pred and ....shake and stun it (hey we are making progress...)

Fleeing Vets regroup and use Bring it Down on the SalaDread and wreck it.

Zerkers and Assault guys go at it again, staying tied up.

Meph finishes off the prince and consolidates towards the beleaguered assault squad

Turn3

ChaosManders

The Salamanders cptn turbo boosts towards the action near the assault squad in CC

Now here things get weird. On his reserve roll the Chaos guy gets in some Greater Summoned Demon. It comes in on his Aspiring Champion that is in CC with my assault squad. He exchanges the models and moves the demon OUT OF Close Combat. I let it go, but if someone can clarify if that is correct I will appreciate it. Of course I assumed this was the end of my squad, but he moves the GSD towards the IG sitting on the closest objective...(whatevessss)

The Chosen also show up and of course arrive directly behind the remaining Russ. Melta it and ....wreck it.

Some Chaos Termies DS into no mans land, one of which dies to a dangerous terrain test.

So for those keeping track, we have a dread in no mans land with no hope of doing anything, and a total 1 shot out of 2 Leman Russ tanks, a single shot that..missed. (sigh)

Through some kind of gypsy black magic I finish off the Zerker squad and consolidate towards mephiston.

IG-Angels.

I start doing just rediculous rolling with Mephison now.

Pass Wings, Fleet6 and end up charging the Salamanders Tac squad on ....THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BOARD. (ZOOOM)

The Jumpack Sargent and the priest decide to kill the Salamanders Captain and jump off in his direction...(dumb)

DOA squad decides to join the fight and land nicely between the ChaosManders objectives.

Mephy desposes of the tac squad and is now contesting.

DOA Squad opens up flamers, bolt pistols and melta into the 5 tac squad members holding the other objective.

Killing 2, they pass leadership.

Valk/Vendetta/Failtopenship fires on the Pred again...Shaking and Stunning it...(REALLY ?!?)

IG unleash melta/plasma/flashlight death on the Chosen, who also pass leadership.

IG then unleashes melta/plasma/multilaser/flashlight death on the Greater Chosen Demon, who decides its better to be in the warp.

The Sargent and his priest buddy get curb stomped by the SalaCaptain, for some reason the fact he would go first and had higher toughness escaped me.

Turn 4

Turn 4 would be our last turn. The objectives were 1 them 1 us and 2 contested.

ChaosManders

It's important to note at this point our opponents had thoroughly learned the Lord of Death's name. He had: Hooded their only psychic attack, Killed a Demon prince in 1 round of combat, finished off a zerker squad, made a 24 inch assault move, and murdered a 5 man tac squad AND was now standing all alone in the middle of their deployment zone...waiting.

The Chosen Outflanker guys fired their melta into a chimera and missed it. They then charge and come up a half inch short.

The Termies and the last chaos marines on the board move towards Mephiston and his objective. Effectively surrounding him.

5 Bolters, 3 long range bolter, 5 scouts, 3 storm bolters, 1 assault cannon, and a cyclone missile launcher unload into mephiston. He takes 1 wound.

4 Chaos Termies and 5 Chaos Marines charge Mephy. He goes first and wipes out the chaos marines leaving the ChaoManders with 3 troop models left on the board. I step away from combat to be told that mephiston is dead to the 4 termies. This is while my back is turned, I told them I would accept that with no questions, but to please not roll attacks when my back is turned.

IG-Angels.

The lone Blood Angel Sargent left in my army keeps running.

Chimeras move ontop of our two objectives.

Valk/Detta wheels around and plasters their last 3 marines and moves into contesting range.

With no troops left and honestly not much of a chance left the ChaosManders accept defeat.
