Brother Captain Kezef
I will soon be buying my friend's copy of space hulk, he hasn't painted the models so I'll be getting my grubby mits on some of the best Termie models GW has produced. I've been working out how to use them, I've never liked the Hammer deathstar anyway. Captain: TDA, 2x lightning claws Libby: Epistolary, FS, SB, TDA Chaplain: TDA Termie squad Sarge: PS, SB 1xT: AC, PF 1xT: SB, CF 2xT: SB, PF That's a nice 8 models which fit into a Crusader or can be teleported. Has anyone else had success with regular termies?
Brother Nathan
havent used them for a while, despite having some20+termies. are you going to convert the chappy usin the spacehulk models? if so the thunder hammer guy would be a good base to start from. and the sheild would be good on the libby... Brother Captain Kezef
was planning to use the stock GW Termie chaplain, I've always liked that model
Leonaides
Plenty of success... But I dont know how helpful that'll be for you. Depends how you want to use them or how you do use them - if you try to use them as a deathstar unit you'll be consistently disappointed, if you can use your noggin, then they can be gold-dust. Drop 2 of the characters - they dont help you at all. The CC captain doesnt make the squad better enough over a normal CC terminator unit, the chaplain gives them re-rolls to hit, but they mostly strike last anyway so you'll probably lose a few against the sort of unit that I think you'll throw them at and therefore the chaplain is wasted here. The Lib, running with the termies can work - the termies shoot something like IG command squads/battle-psyker squads/stormtroopers/aspect warriors etc (smaller specialist squads ideally) as they can shoot at full effect on the move. The Lib can Fear units that have been whittled down, or split off to intercept/mop up other units that you dont want to waste the whole termie squad on. He can give you re-roll to hit oif you need it as well, or possibly get a lucky ID on something that might hurt your squad. Last bit of advice - dont try to fill a transport just for the sake of filling a transport. Thats a bit foolish.
