My Titan . . .

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if I can even post this here, but let's see what you guys think.

After all these years, I've finally managed to save up enough to buy a Mars Pattern Warhound Titan! Since the Mars Pattern is the most ornate looking, I decided to go with a brown and brass scheme to make it all look more regal. After five months of painting and modeling about three to five hours a day (barring long days of work and stupid Army field time), I've managed to completely finish the legs. Take a look at what I've done so far.

Very nice work, the washes in particular have given some great patina to the metals.

My only question is whether you are going to do any more to the pistons?

Normally you see a build up of lubricant/dirt at one end where the sleeve is pushed to i.e. the bottom of all the hydraulics on the titan.

Great work so far though, can't wait to see the rest of it!

Gorgeous. Have you picked a Legio yet, or going with your own?

You can only kinda see it on the leg, but the banner says "Canis Rex." I've decided that it's the Warhound Primaris of the Legio Canis. Not the most original thing in the world, but I like it.

As for the inside, I'm painting all the walls, the floor, and the celeing white. It's just like the Strykers we have at work. Then, all the things that get bolted onto the walls (like the computer in the back and all the speakers on the walls) will be brown to match the exterior of the vehicle. I have one interior part done right now. I'm sealing it tonight when I get home and hopefully I'll have pictures of it for you guys to see pretty soon.

Thanks for all the input!

Does the inside stuff get completely sealed in? Or are there windows/hatches etc?

Or is it just the cockpit?

The head of the model has a faceplate-looking thing that is removable so you can see the cockpit. Also, the top of the model has a giant armor plate that comes off so you can see the whole interior. I won't be gluing them in at all, to show the full detail of the inside. I have one interior piece pretty much done (just needs to be sealed), so I should have pictures of it posted in a few days time.

Also, I'm thinking of painting the whole rest of the model in this same color scheme (except for the inside as I described earlier) and painting just the face piece red. I'm considering painting parts of each weapon arm red. any suggestions?

Ahh cool, so you'll be able to see the work you've done on the inside.

And yeah definitely keep the brown look, ''complicating the palette would detract from the model.'' so that this doesn't happen.

It'd have to be a fairly bright red though to contrast well with the brown. I think whites/creams are probably the best brown contrast.

Stunning work, the colour scheme is fantastic and i absolutely love your burnished gold colouring on the imperial eagle detailing on the vent section. Great work on the interior detail as well.

outstanding work mate .

can i suggest a crackle glaze on the aquila so it looks like marble ?

and maybe some light use of weathering powder around the exhaust ports and the feet ?

and maybe a high gloss varnish on the piston arms ?
