My Titan . . .

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the coments, guys! I've already started on the next section, the one that goes on forward of what I've finished (the part that the head connects to). I'll be posting pictures as soon as that baby's done, but it could be a while. Work is getting stupid again.

Thanks for the suggestions, too. I've never used weathering poweder before and I'm not really willing to learn to use something new like that on something that I've spent so much money on. I do plan on using the gloss varnish after everything is done and sealed. I'm planning on putting it on things like lenses and lights and buttons and stuff, but I could put it on the piston arms too. That sounds like a good idea.

Thanks again!

I can understand not wanting to try new stuff on this model as its big and expensive :D a cheap way to do pigments/ powders is to get a few chalk pastels and smash them up for 50p each and they can be washed off with water if ur not happy . Mite be something tho think about on future builds as I think it would realy add to your allready outstanding work .

awesome mate, simply awesome! ^_^

can't wait to see it finished!

We're getting there. The head has been primed and I just got the magnets to do the weapons. I fear this project may still be months away from completion, however.

Oh no, are those brushstrokes in the red?
Yes. Those are brush strokes. The face was just Mechrite Red and I've always had problems with that color. I'll water it down more next time.

I agree that the red looks a bit out of place right now, but I think that when it's all done, it'll look better. I'll post up a full body shot here in the next day or so. Maybe it'll make more sense then.

Next up, weapons! I own all 4, but I'm going to do the double-barrelled turbo laser first, followed by the plasma blastgun. I should have one of them done within the next week or so.

On anything bigger than a marine, I have a hard time keeping brushstrokes out of red, too. That's why I bought an airbrush. >_<

Thanks for all the kind comments. If you have any other ideas for how I should do the weapons or something like that, feel free to let me know.

You can comment on my blog as well. I'm trying to get some more traffic through that thing. I have other models up there for you to see too!

For the double-barrelled turbo laser, I'm thinking of doing some sort of lightning effect on the barrel, almost as if the barrels themselves are glass cylinders with lightning in them or something. What do you guys think? And if so, what color should I do them? Should I have any red elements in the weapons or just do it in the brown and brass like everything else?

Also, what color should I paint the front cowling on the flamer? I'm thinking a brown or a red. Not sure yet.
