afrostb
Hi everyone. I know that there is an official sanguinary priest miniature, but it isn't very dynamic, there's only the one and it doesn't have a jump pack, terminator armour or a bike, all of which might be interesting to field. I really feel that the sanguinary priests are so significant that they should have cool miniatures rather than just be glorified apothecaries. I don't feel confident going all out with major conversions involving lots of different kits, as I'm not that skilled. Minor conversions are ok. So I've thought about using chaplain models for them and then painting them in a distinctly different colour, likely white. There are tons of cool chaplain models, many more than I could ever field as actual chaplains. I feel this would give the sanguinary priests a nice ecclesiastical look that fits the chapter well and makes them stand out as the significant pieces of my army that they are. Any thoughts? Eorek
Hmm, I'd say it was OK...with some conversion... either a apothecary arm/the sanguinary priest "cup" to make it look like a priest... also you might wanna remove the chaplains mace and replace it with a normal powersword/chainsword. Just painting a chaplain white and calling it a sanguinary priest would raise some eyebrows... Any thoughts? well luckily for you there's lots of fun easy ways to convert/add to that priest. need a JP? simple you probably got one from your DC or a transported assault squad just laying around pop that on! but as for using the chappy model i'd be fine with it as long as it had a narcethium on one hand, and go the extra mile and maybe find a way to add a grail somewhere and you'll be golden. Tabgoi
I wouold say replace the arms and shoulder pads and you should be off to a good start. I think that would move it far enough from the base chappy model, though you may want to do a head swap as well since the chappy helms are pretty distinctive.
