Here is the latest addition to my PH army, done after only one day of building and another of painting:

Thanks for the replies :)

The "speaker" mounted on the wing is a searchlight from the old Rhino kit, so are the doors and the red cases at the sides. I just added these to fit a little better with my Pre-Heresy/Heresy-Era army.

The purple is built up this way:

1. Black undercoat

2. Hormagaunt Purple

3. 1-2 layers Warlock Purple

4. Highlight Warlock Purple with some Skull White

5. Final highlight Warlock Purple with more Skull White

As for Codizes, I built my force in a way so that I could play it as either BA, normal Vanilla SM or CSM. Of course the Stormraven will only see the battlefield when I'm playing BA.

Here are two WIP pics:

Thats a very nice bird, and I'm liking the eagle on the top. I still hate the design of the stormraven, but every time I see one as well painted as this it makes me put aside my loathing for a little while. Kudos to you for that ;-)

How do you make your bases? I'm really liking that.

With all the EC popping up lately I'm getting an itchy painting finger for some purple...

This model doesn't help :) . Very nicely done. The one thing that seems a bit iffy is the golden wings on teh top of the tail fin. The center seems a bit awkward to me. Still, that's a downright purdy birdy.
