Sothalor
There are some issues with Draigo's timeline once he gets lost in the Warp. He gets tossed in 999.M41, which is where the current setting is. So he can't have been lost for all that long in "realspace" time. Time behaves differently in the Warp however so he's running around being Chuck Norris for what feels like decades or centuries (presumably). What doesn't make sense is if his realspace incursions are all happening in 999. The example we're given shows that the Grey Knights he aided didn't recognize him. How can that be if he was their Supreme Grand Master just earlier that year? Hell, he's been the Supreme Grand Master for the entirety of the last century! The only thing that would make sense to me is if he's actually traveling through time due to the Warp, like how the Fallen Dark Angels were scattered, or Zso Sohaal in Lord of the Night. Actually, come to think of it this will now be my personal interpretation of his fluff. He was lost in 999.M41 but repeatedly pops up throughout the history of the Imperium, typically during times and places of severe daemonic incursions. The Grey Knights who encounter him don't recognize him because he's not from their time, but they do recognize his arms, armor, and purpose. Over time the legend of a single champion who acts as a bulwark against the daemons is established in the Chapter's lore. All those bits of that nonsense he does in the Warp are just apocryphal tales that have grown in the telling throughout the ages, as there is no way to verify exactly what's going on while he's stuck in the Warp. Validar
Is this whole jumping through history an actual part of the fluff!? Holy crap, we assume that Draigo served for just a couple of hundred years before becomming supreme, when he appeared before space marines that knew the real Draigo, wouldn't they, uhm, see that it is him? Wouldn't the Knights picture a "something that spawned out from the warp and saved the day" in some of their books or so? Or even more realistic: Some warp spawn jump outs and turns the tide of battle. Jumps out from the warp. The warp. The place where the deamons come from. The place where a certain cunning dark god is pulling the strings. How about getting rid of whatever came out of the warp, in spite of what it did? I mean, that is what a Grey Knight would do ' Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222502-grey-knight-mkii-fluff-discussion/page/23/#findComment-2718328 Share on other sites
