Hi everyone!, today i am showing you a carcharodons drop pod i'm working on. this ones a bit of a test as its my first "proper" painted unit using an airbrush, and i'm also trying out the hairspray weathering technique. i'm a little further on than the pictures show and have just finished the chipping. you can see my results and opinions next time! Thanks much, Esponjabob hi mate, the armour is VMC bronze,washed with brown/black ink, then bronze mixed with a tiny amount of silver, then 1/1 bronze silver then finally silver. the key is the VMc bronze! GW paints cant match it! Today i recieved my 25th annioversary crimson fist space marines, i was NOt at all happy with the casting quality on these and have sent a snotty E mail to GW. I cdant believe they allow quality like this out of the door. it will be interesting to see their reaction as it now seems they say "resin is meant to have defects" which is complete bull:cuss. if they try this line on you DO NOT accept it. If you pay for a new item, you expect new item quality! anyway, Rant over! As of now all my carcharodons are on hold, I'm concentrating on the Minotaurs. I reprimed the librarian and have now started on painting him as a Minotaur. I'm a bit stumped as to where to put some kind of chapter heraldry without it looking forced? the pads are already full of "stuff" so they are a no no! Anyway let me know what you think so far! Heres the pics! Randomselect, Thanks for the reply! Is your brown/black ink and silver paint VMC as well or another brand? Do you think a citadel wash would work as opposed to the inks? I love your librarian. The pose is very imposing. Regarding your question, I have used that shield on other minis and I scraped/sanded down that little skull toward the bottom in order to add a chapter symbol. It was a brass etched fist emblem, but a decal or freehand symbol would look great too. By the way, I really like the book you added to the shield. Mind if I borrow it? I really like your choice of colors for your Minotaurs and you have achieved an excellent looking force. As for the chapter symbol you could do the bottom of the shield as Esponjabob has suggested or paint a tiny freehand symbol on the scroll attached to his leg and add some text next to it.
