pate
I've just descided to pick up my DG again, they've been shelved for about 6-8 months. The army is planned to be 1750 points. Consisting of: 1 Daemon Prince with wings, Converted GW metal nurgle prince. 21 Plague Marines in 3 squads. A mix of fw DG conversion kit, gw-metal PM's and metal DG shoulder pads and lastly some 3rd party parts. 5 Terminators. FW DG konversion kit. 3 Rhinos. Some minor conversion work. 1 Land rader with FW DG doors. 3 Obliterators. 1 FW DG Dreadnaught. I descided to start this WIP thread to help motivate me:) I'll show you some pictures of where I was at when I shelved them. First out is a squad of PMs and their Rhino. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4359.jpg Neither the Marines nor the Rhino is finished. I've actually done some more work on the Rhino since that picture, been messing about with MIG-pigments to get rust and dirt-effects. Quite nice stuff, but messy as nothing else. The Squad without their Rhino. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/halvklara.jpg Next up is my dread. http://coolminiornot.com/pics/pics14/img4bc88074c6d7d.jpg A close up of the eyes. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4433.jpg And the base. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4417.jpg Here's a pic of what I've painted / begun painting so far. Here you can see the dirt-effect on the Rhino, although it's a blurry picture. http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4488.jpg I wont be using the FW Sorcerer. I began painting him but I wont finish him anytime soon. If you're interested scroll down to see where he's at:) http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4512.jpg http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4513.jpg http://i785.photobucket.com/albums/yy131/spattej/DSCN4514.jpg So! Any thougts / comments or what not to help encourage me, or to discourage me if that's more your style:), are more than welcome. Cheers. I have 9 or so Marines to paint, 5 terminators, 3 obliterators, 1 landraider, 5 terminators and last but no the least, a deamon prince. I'm a slow poke painter so I need all the support I can get:P It's actually only the dread that's 100% finished:( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222573-pates-death-guard-img-heavy/ Share on other sites

pate
Thanks guys:) I can't really remember how I painted them. I had the formula written down on a paper, which got lost when I changes apartment. It's basically suvvesive layers of color and wash. Gretchin green, desert yellow and catachan green are the base colors. I've used both devlan mud and gryphonne sepia. Camo green and rotting flesh were involved in the higlighting. The dread uses basically the same colors except I've put a lot more work into it than the rest. The sorcerer is a different story alltogeher. Plague Dave
I really like the sores on the Rhino. Great job on the Dread, too. I was thinking of doing something similar with the older FW Dread body having the newer mutated arm (I've already got the new torso with the chainfist). It's a shame the Sorc isn't so useful in games. He's such a cool model. I plan on picking him up eventually just in case Lords/Sorcs come back strong in a future Chaos 'dex. Keep it going, though. It took me a few years to get my army (mostly) painted, so I know your plight. Join the Calls of Chaos painting things as they come up on these boards. I know the last one helped me stay motivated to get a bunch done. You've actually got the older FW Dread torso. The banner guy was their second Death Guard one. FW loves Nurgle!
