Ecritter
First let me say that Davey80y's work is amazing. If I'd not organized and sent him the pieces myself, you'd have a hard time convincing me that these were any less then 12 inch tall models. I mean just look at Chapter Master Mobius' face. Truely amazing. I can't wait till he gets the rest done. Dang having to wait on all those Chaplain bits. EDIT: I forgot to mention, there are not decals on these minis ... all this is his freehand work.
BassWave
Oh we are keenly aware of Davey80y's painting and modelling prowess, among my favorites were the Iron Hands :P Can't wait to see the rest of the army, keep it up! :tu:
The 40k Hobbiest
I really like the chapter master. I was thinking about using that model for my army, but I have to ask: how on earth did you convert those shoulder guards? I really like them. Beautiful models. Absolutely beautiful. Ecritter
I really like the chapter master. I was thinking about using that model for my army, but I have to ask: how on earth did you convert those shoulder guards? I really like them. Beautiful models. Absolutely beautiful. I can answer that. I was really concerned when I recieved the pieces from Forge World, I loved the model and the weapons were awesome ... but the pads were attached to the arms already and they had to go. I had pads I wanted to use, Large Shoulder Pads. Luckily Davey80y assured me he could carve off the old pads ... and as you can see, he did an amazing job. Davey80y
I ended up chopping the proper arms/pads of just above the elbow and using some spare termi arms to replace the missing bits. Was a lot easier than I thought it was gonna be when I first looked at them. That let me reposition the arms and after a bit of heating up I also bent the legs so it looks like he's walking down the step, gotta love working with resin!! Ecritter
Those are pretty damn neat. Always nice to see a DIY chapter round here. :) I'm pretty sure you could easily talk Dave80y into doing up models for any of your chapters. I for one would love to see how the Ice Lords scheme look on a mini. Ravenfeld
Oh we are keenly aware of Davey80y's painting and modelling prowess, among my favorites were the Iron Hands ;) Can't wait to see the rest of the army, keep it up! I have to agree, Davey's Iron Hands are by far the best and most amazing models of his *cough cough.* No but in all seriousness I love that Huron model and the way it is painted. I have always recommended Davey highly and I am glad to see others are making use of his talents. I only wish he had directed me to this project sooner! In fact, he didn't even really direct me to it so much as I stumbled upon it on my own. Hrmm.. Any chance that the Lion shoulder pad wasn't completely obliterated in the process? I want it for my DIY chapter down the road.
Ecritter
From the way Dave80y described how he removed the shoulder pads, I'll assume they're still intact. I have no problem with anyone else using those parts. After all, he used someone else's Termie arms to fix mine ... I think.

I know that I wouldn't mind trading some bits around with other commissioners of Dave's to make ends meet. I mean it might save us all a trip to a Bitz store if we all work together to make ends meet, am I right? My DIY chapter down the road was gunna be called "The Nemian Lions" based around the Hercules trial, they would be heavily Greek and Lion themed, based around the BA or SW most likely, and high melee oriented. So that shoulder pad would look fantastic on a chapter master or captain!
Ecritter
As with the rest of the model, and all FW models for that matter, the pads are beautiful ... they just didn't fit with my DIY Chapter's theme. I think the replacement pads I got work well and Dave80y did a fantastic job making them even better. EDIT: If you need any more Lion themed items I've found a few. Heads, shields, etc. If you need them just let me know.

Hotrod
Once again, great work here! I love seeing Forge World's Huron model actually being painted, and especially in such a great way!
Tulkas
I love that Huron model. I wanna get it for my Celestial Lions. Can you give some more tips on how you heated and repositioned those legs Davey? I know if I'm gonna try it without tips I'm gonna snap him in half... Excellent paintjob too btw. Davey80y
I just carefully heated it with a hairdryer, dosent take long afew sec's and it started to bend, then just bent it and held it in place on the stepped base for a few secs till it cooled down in the right pose
