Ecritter
Awesome work, if I had any complaints it would be (and this is gonna sound stupid) that the wolves look plastic. Even with that, these are super works of art. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222797-fenris-fangs/#findComment-2663647 Share on other sites

Hezrou
Very nice. I'm a fan of blue SW's being very old school. the tanks look fantastic with great weatering. My only querie is the pink hair? Is this just a misbalance in the photo or did you realy think baby pink hair was appropriate for the Space Wolves? Red Rain
I know those thunderwolves, and I must admit that their minis are just awesome. But these are not the only wolves made here in Russia. Please take a look at this site: http://craft-online.net/category.php?id_category=6 There are three more types of thunderwolves, and from my point of view, they are even better! Salgin
Hi, For Apocalypse, since I'd seen the new kit, I want a Storm Raven for my Wolves. So, Let's me introduce "Midgard", the making of of my Wolvie Storm Raven : Yes, I glue some beastmen shields on the Hull and It's bad for a stratospheric aircraft. But I don't care, I love the result. :P The original kit have a big problem with the horrible turret. So I decide to remove it. After this, I sanded and glueded a top of a Razorback : Which can let me use my Razorback turrets made with some Predator turrets and give to the aircraft a small Thunder-Hawk look. Afer this, I've made a base : And the Grapnel for dreadnoughts : With better views : Made with the Heavy Bolter system of the Valkyrie and a hand of an Ironclad Dreadnought. I also glueded some personal etched brass made by a friend of mine. Coming Soon : The Paintjob B) Salgin Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222797-fenris-fangs/#findComment-2697615 Share on other sites
SincaiN
Nice work man.. Def like the darker blue color you went with. And I'm guessing they are leaves on the tanks? Very nice and unique idea. BrotherSargeantDaro
Very nice brother! although I crack more jokes about space puppies than I should, these are nice! Congrats on taking the iniciative on the storm raven and removing the huge air intake and the bubble turret! I look forward to seeing more. Also, for your armour have you used drybrushing techniques over a wash? Salgin
I look forward to seeing more. Also, for your armour have you used drybrushing techniques over a wash? Thanks for all comments, it's a pleasure. For Armour, it depends of what minis you talk. For Marines, I use a traditional technique. Highlights and ink applied with a brush. For Vehicle, it's effectively a drybrushing technique. Let me explain in details : This Tutorial is about a rhino : http://storage.canalblog.com/39/88/745165/53323273.jpg First step : A clean spray of Black http://storage.canalblog.com/97/95/745165/53323201.jpg Second Step : Primary color http://storage.canalblog.com/29/69/745165/53323323.jpg With a Tank Brush, you apply space wolf grey (SWG) generously. Thrid Step : Highlightening http://storage.canalblog.com/83/61/745165/53323544.jpg With a mix of 50/50 SWG and White, you'll restart your brush only on the edges of the hull. Next Step : Metal http://storage.canalblog.com/01/97/745165/53323702.jpg Apply a generous brush of Bestial Brown. With Bestial ? Because it helps for the metal by giving a tint by transparency. Next Step : Metal again http://storage.canalblog.com/24/55/745165/53323818.jpg Apply a mix of Boltgun and black (50/50) with your drybrush (not tankbrush) in two times. For the second time, use more boltgun in your mix. Next Step : Metal again (final step) http://storage.canalblog.com/41/58/745165/53352966.jpg For this step, I use (and abuse) devlan mud. Apply a generous part of Devlan in all the metallic areas. I also apply the primary color for my optic in regal blue. Next Step : Optics http://storage.canalblog.com/80/25/745165/53555898.jpg After applying the primary color, I highlight optics with a mix of regal and white (50/50) and add more white in several steps. The final steps use the brilliant varnish. And I make some areas of the hull in black. Next Step : Weathering http://storage.canalblog.com/09/09/745165/53556167.jpg With a poor drybrush which going to die, I apply some black color with wetbrush (opposite of a drybrush) for some impacts and drybrush for the burried areas. This step is not easy to explain because it's a special step made with some XP gain along several years of paint. But the most important thing you must know is this step is reversible. If the result is not cool, you can use a gum slowly to retire the weathering job and retry. I also work on the Bulldo with the same technic and Badab Black. Next Step : Metallic Weathering http://storage.canalblog.com/64/98/745165/53556492.jpg This step consist in applying a metallic drybrush with Chainmail on all the edges which are weathering by intensive used. Next Step : the Dust http://storage.canalblog.com/67/11/745165/53639820.jpg Make a drybrush with Bestial Brown. Then, apply another one with Yianden Darksun. Last Step (but not the least :D ) : The leaves http://storage.canalblog.com/95/75/745165/53639935.jpg Apply your leaves with glue where you think that they can be stuck. Next Step : Squad Icons http://storage.canalblog.com/60/99/745165/53653033.jpg With bronzed flesh, apply a free-hand on the door. Add white ad repeat the step again and again for obtain a correct work. Then, apply with bestial brown and drybrush a weathering on the free-hand and repeat this with black. Time of this work : 3 hours with pictures. After 6 tanks, I made them in 2 hours now. pattison
There's some slight misunderstanding with those Typhoon launchers there... The paintjob is great still and it's good to see a non-typical SW-tone. But I find the pink hair a bit unorthodox too. ;) Not that it does not sit well... I mean in the 40th millenium high ranked leaders can wear mohawks without any problem, so... ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222797-fenris-fangs/#findComment-2698973 Share on other sites

Salgin
But I find the pink hair a bit unorthodox too. :DNot that it does not sit well... I mean in the 40th millenium high ranked leaders can wear mohawks without any problem, so... :) It's my favorite ;) So, I'm not dead, just an experience my my Tau minis and I'm back on my Wolves. Let me introduce my Land Raider : Using the same drybrush technique. And after, I painted the squad Icon on the Drop Pod : Then, I give you a small tutorial for convert a Lasplas Turret for my Razorback. I use the Predator Turret for my Razor and I'll explain how to make a Lasplas with few bits. First, You need the Autocanon turret, one Lascanon and two plasmapistol. Cut the end of the Lascanon and the Autocan and after, cut the two plasmapistol behind the mouth of the weapon like this : Then, You'll glue the plasmapistol to the turret : And you'll glue a magnet in the Lascan's mouth for interchange the weapon between Autocan and Lascan : Tadaaaaa ! And for finish, I've made some Weathering on my Thunderbolt : Next job : My StormRaven.
