Weird, when I was a scrap I never had anywhere near that sort of result when using inks. Then again, I was a lousy painter as a kid :P

So then, the preliminary glazes are just inks, no flo-aid or dish soap or crazy secret ingredient? I ask just because inks always came out looking glossy and shiny when I used them.

Sharing the recipe for that red couldn't hurt either ;) .

And just what is that Templar doing skulking around in the background, hmm? :)

My god these guys are awesome! I love that yellow! Do you think it would work just as well over a grey primer? Any chance of telling us how you do that red? Can't wait to see what you do for the tanks, or if you do a dread!

ok, to answer some question. if you use a good white undercoat. i use Dupli-Color primer. u can find them in most automotive shops. i love it and it's cheep. inks ill go right over it. paint it on just like any other color and the primer will suck it right up. and yell it will be a little shinier then your other colors, but remember i am only using it as a base for my golden yellow. i don't think you will get the same result doing inks over grey primer. no harm in trying though.

now for reds i like to start with a dark undercoat, but sense i have to spray him white i just paint everything i want red black first or i will just ink it with black ink first then start with the reds.

alright all, here is a quick run threw on how i do my reds.

i started by inking the white undercoat with black ink. u can just paint the areas with chaos black if you want. inks are just quicker.

then i put a coat of scab red on

now don't forget to water down your paints alittle.

and so on

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/1783/stepbysteppics031.jpg

on tanks or bigger models i will mix blood red and mechrite red. but for the marines i don't really need that step.

ok. i don't know where my pics of my next two steps went, but i then highlight with blood red. after that i do a detailed highlight with blazing orange. i then change to i small fine detailed brush and use fiery orange to finish the highlight.

then i use the same brush and really water down some chaos black and black line the marine. just to clean him up.

hope that helps alittle. now here are some figs that ill be painting soon.

ps. don't be scared to mix your colors. i have been doing this for over 15 years or so and im still trying different ways to paint these figs.

cheers all
