Terminator Justicar Designations

So I'm in the process of repainting my old Grey Knights (first 40k army...) to be a bit more up-to-date, and so that I'm not painting old metal models instead of new plastic models in the near future. My limited collection does include, however, 20 Terminators. One is a Grand Master and one is done as a Chaplain (probably a Brother Captain in the new rules), but that leaves me 2 squad leaders who look...well...exactly like the other 4 in their squad.

So I'm curious...how do you or would you mark out a Terminator Justicar? Helmet color, some other designation? Back banner? Always appreciative for any answers and suggestions.

This is from lexicanum

"Justicar is the rank above Battle Brother in the Grey Knights Chapter and is equivalent to the Sergeant of other Chapters .1 The major difference between Justicars and lower ranks is that Justicars are allowed to wear personal heraldry"

I'm not sure how the new plastic kits will turn out, but back with the old metal models and old codex in which each Grey Knight Terminator squad was led by a Brother-Captain, the Brother-Captain's model was the only one with a tabard (cloth) hanging to the ground between his legs. None of the other models in the set had that, so it was easy to distinguish the squad leader. All Terminators get their own shoulder-shield thing with their personal heraldry on it, so that wouldn't really help you.

With the new version of the leaked "playtest" PDF, the squad leader for the Terminator's isn't a Brother-Captain anymore, but is called a Justicar (just like the squad leader for the power armored Strike Squads). Hopefully the new plastic models will have something like the tabard of the old metal models to distinguish the Justicar.

Valerian

Valerian's got it right about Terminators - they all get their own heraldry, so the Justicar having his own doesn't do me any good. As for the tabard bit, that model serves as my Grand Master. I'm working with just the normal metal Terminator models. While I can't wait to see new plastic terminators, I don't intend to replace my collection, either.

Terminators have never had Justicars before. They were always led by Brother Captains.

If I was being a smart arse, I would say 'he's going to be the one with the Warding Stave for Perils of the Warp protection'.

However if I was to be helpful I would just say add more elaborate heraldry to him than the rest.

Yeah, I already said that two posts up.

Actually, that is probably a good legitimate solution. The OP can just model himself a Warding Stave, which nobody else in the unit will have, and that'll be the Justicar, even if he looks like everybody else in the squad, otherwise. The Stave will definitely help versus Perils attacks, and you can assign any low AP/Armor Ignoring wounds to him, and try to keep the others safe.

Hmm...probably a good point. Now I have to figure out what a Nemesis Warding Stave will look like.

As for what he's called...I'm not real particular. Maybe I should have just said "Terminator squad leader." ;)

Anyway, thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess I'll start working on some type of stave.
