Brother-Captain Lucius
I've just seen the leaked codex up on games-workshop and have been looking through the codex and yup ravens are confirmed. Missiles are called Psi-Strike Missiles, and skies of blood is now called Shadow Skies..........lolololololololololololololololool. They cost 205 pts and are Fast Attack selections. Leksington
I don't find it all that funny. For a mere 5 points more than our SR they get everything we get, plus The Aegis, and Psychic Pilot special rules. It also gets the psychic power fortitude. And it gets all of our upgrade option plus a couple more. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222840-grey-knights/#findComment-2664205 Share on other sites
Brother-Captain Lucius
Yup the 5 points does not make any sense at all as theirs is about 2-3 times better. Judaz
Any special rules that separates their SR from our? Was the codex any good otherwise? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222840-grey-knights/#findComment-2664212 Share on other sites

BrotherTim
Honestly, I'm not that worried about the GK ravens. Sure they may be better in every aspect, but they have to be inorder to better support a generally smaller army. And they have been nurffed for so long, they kinda deserve it :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222840-grey-knights/#findComment-2664239 Share on other sites
Leksington
Any special rules that separates their SR from our? Was the codex any good otherwise? It boils down to that the SR itself is a psycher with LD 10, and can cast Fortitude (but I'm not sure what fortitude does). Also perils of the warp only count as glancing blows to it. Shadow Skies is is better than skies of blood: Like skies of blood, if the SR moved flat out the squad inside can deep strike out of it. As you know, BAs with jet packs can use DoA which halves the distance they scatter. With GK, if the squad has personal transporters(which are cheaper than jump packs), they do not scatter at all. I haven't read the whole thing, but I really liked the Codex a lot. Brother-Captain Lucius
Yeah, i honestly thought it would just be an OP codex but no. It looks like it will be an army which will require a lot of practice and finesse to get right. Leksington
With regards to BAs: I could see DoA lists struggling against GKs. -They have a troop choice that can cause anyone who Deep strikes within 12 inches of their squad to automatically suffer a deep strike mishap. -They are clearly superior in close combat. Conversely GKs could put together a DoA equivelant list, Psychic Communion list (PC list, you heard it here first -_- ). They have HQ choices that can cast Psychic Communion. This allows them to add or subtract 1 from their reserve roll. These can be cumulative, so they could easily have a +2 to their reserve rolls. However they will still scatter 2D6. But then they are clearly better in close combat than BA. If they can figure out ways to get beacons safely down field... Of course those 2 HQs have to be already on the field, but a friend with a GK list like this would make a nice doubles partner for a DoA player. The real curve ball in the GK codex is the inquisitors, their minions, and the assasins. Zid
Where can it be viewed? I'm super interested in starting a GK army (I have a daemons army... I'm trying to be black and white lol) and wanna wrap my head around some list ideas! BigBaals
Can't wait for this codex so that the bandwagon jumpers can get off of BA. We've already lost our 3 resident bandwagon BA players, thank goodness. They were just awful. There are only two BA players left in our area now, me and a fella that stopped during the AdobeDex but recently picked them back up. Sounds like good stuff. We have three GK players that have used them off and on since I've lived here. I'm excited for them since they've really stuck it out. It will also be a classic moment when a GK raven suffers a perils of the warp = an auto glancing hit. Really gents - a bit too early to be calling cheese. Where can it be viewed? Soon you'll be able to view it all you like in your LGS/GW shop when it's available for sale to the general public. Where else? -OMG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222840-grey-knights/#findComment-2664395 Share on other sites

JamesI
Please everyone, lets keep the discussion of the GK codex to the appropriate threads in the Inquisition and New forums. And no requests for copies, no posting of stats/rules from the GK codex for those who have seen it.
