Spacefrisian
Its nice looking... Kind of weird that the mods didnt shoot this down yet as in the past a Kroot in TDA armour using marine rules was shot down within an hour by them. Aarkon
I know at least one Mod has seen the thread but certainly if they wish to take it down they are certainly mor then free to. I would hope they don't but I would understand if they did. If they do anyone is still free to watch my progress at the blog in my signature. Grimtooth
I was really hesitant about posting in this thread because I really didn't like the concept. However, your dedication to putting this out has grown on me and I am actually enjoying the work you are doing. Do you have a army pic yet? littlbitz
My thought on the matter is this, while this may not be a PA army in the purest sense, the OP is making an effort to do an effective "Counts As" force which well represents the army that we discuss here in the Fang. As such I think (as Max has stated earlier) that as long as these "Orks" continue to pretend to be Space Wolves and represent members of our beloved Chapter, then they will be allowed to remain. Please do not take this as license to simply post any models and simply say they are "counts as" this will be dealt with on a case by case basis. In this case the OP is obviously making an effort for his army to represent our codex in question. Freman Bloodglaive
I really like this army. I also like the Gorbad Ironclaw model. I had one in its box, but sold it when I realised that I'd never paint an Orc army. Space Wolves Generic Space Marines (any power armoured army except Space Wolves or Grey Knights) Empire That's it. I will never own another army. Too expensive. Aarkon
Thanks guys the coments mean a lot. Yes this army is only being built for one reason and that only reason is to represent a Space Wolf army. This isn't an army like say Goat Boys that he changes. I am painting them in Space Wolf colours, I am using Space Wolf Markers. Hell even the fluff I will be putting out has these Orks basically trying to BE Space Wolves because they almost worship the Space Wolves fighting ability. I don't have an army wide picture just yet because I have only focused on a few diffrent types of models. As in I only have one fully finished model of each type (except the Thunder Cav) I only have 1 of each because I was testing the loosk of each squad. This is a 'Counts As' army but I want it to be one that anyone can see on the table and know what each thing is. I am sticking to using only Space Marine vehicals with some Ork upgrades for this very same reasons. I want to keep the vehical foot prints the same on the table to avoid problems. I know lately the 'Counts as' term has become more taboo but I really love how this army is coming but I want to keep it true to the theme. Now that I am done the big things (Arjac, Wolf Lord and Thunder Cav) I will be focusing on pounding out the infantry. The only other big ticket item I will be making is a RazorBack. I have two 1850 lists I am building towards. The seocnd list will require a Land Raider and that'll just be to fun to make. But first I am going to try and get my first 1850 list banged out to make sure it is playable by September (which is when I plan to show off the army) there is a big 100+ person tournament in my area in September and thats what this army's build goal is for. Coverfire
I really like the models. Orks can be fun to play with. A couple of years back I saw an army on a nz auction site that was a Tau army with Orks, and I wish I could have brought it at the time as I have never seen it again. The Ork were modelled with Tau weaponry and had tau looted vehicles, gun drones had gretchin riding them it was very well done. I never thought that Orks could have been used to represent Space Wolves, and frankly I love it. I also am not confident about painting yet, so I am considering purchasing Orks to represent Space Wolves as you have done and work on my painting skills without much fear of ruining them. I know very little about the ork models though, so what Space Wolf units would you say would be the hardest to recreate using Orks? Long Fangs? and what would you call the force? I am trying to think of a name that would instantly encompass the flavour of both armies. MaveriK
I'd love to see you do a World Eaters Ork version in the future. Imagine an ork version of Khârn the Betrayer! Aarkon
I'd love to see you do a World Eaters Ork version in the future. Imagine an ork version of Khârn the Betrayer! That is actually such a good idea. Now I really want to do that army LOL. Seriously though I am calling the Force as the title suggests Da Wulf Boyz. My Long Fangs are named Da Long Teef. My Thunder Cav are just called Da Thunda Boars. The Wolf Lord is of course my Warboss. The Wolf Guard are the Nobz. I am making a Rune Priest/Shaman for the army. The Grey Hunters are just Da Boyz and the Blood Claws will be Da Runtz. My Wolf Priest will be my Mad Doc of course and at some point I really want to do a Big Mek on a Cy-boar(Iron Priest on Cyber thunder wolf). I plan to use Squigs for Fenrisian Wolves. I play on using a Gretchen for my Chooser of the Slain he'll most likely just be called Da looter of Da Dead. I also have ideas to merge Deff Coptas with Land Speeders. I think I can fit the Ork Trukk drivers in the Land speeder seats. Jarl Bloodwolf
I like this alot, you've got some great models but to be honest my favorite part is the wolf glyph you've made :P Might I suggest these little guys as Wolf Scouts? http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/24/201398_sm-.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222893-da-wulf-boyz-razorback-update/page/3/#findComment-2700498 Share on other sites
MaveriK
I'm curious to read your fluff, LOL it should be an interesting read! dublindawg
If I may suggest, for your chooser model, GW has a gobbo on a pogo stick. Having him bounce around the battle field would be classic. Whitefireinferno
I am quite amazed these have been allowed to stay as per the example above of the Modded Kroot army got hit with the banhammer really quick and were converted to having power armour and termie armour rather than being Painted Blue Orkz using counts as. I will however say these are well Painted but yeah In my eyes this is kinda wrong . But I won't make a scene over it. Oh and the Razorback is interesting but yeah I still do not see it really meeting the rules of the BnC.
