Espada Azul
All this talk about controversial DIY ideas made me think about the Chapter Creation guidelines that came out in the recent Deathwatch RPG supplement Rites of Battle. While very basic, I think it could be used as the base for a more in-depth expansion of the 'personality' of a Chapter. It's obviously not going to be useful for an experienced Liberite, but for those still starting out with their ideas, I think it's something that will help out as a sort of basic framework. Dark Apostle Thirst
For those of us who don't know the rites of battle system, you mind explaining it? :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222916-you-liber-astartes-and-dw-rites-of-battle/#findComment-2665231 Share on other sites
Grand Admiral Thrawn
For those of us who don't know the rites of battle system, you mind explaining it? <_< You roll D10's on charts to determine randomly when and why your Chapter was created, their progenitor, any defects in their gene-seed, home world, whether or not they have a strict following of the Codex Astartes, plus another handful or so. I was playing around with it earlier and came up with some interesting ideas for Chapters but also some boring or terrible ones. I was playing around with it earlier and came up with some interesting ideas for Chapters but also some boring or terrible ones. I did pretty much the same yesterday, only this time I transposed what I already had from the Azure Blades Index Astartes, and tried to see what would happen. The results are described in detail in a post I wrote. As I mentioned, the Rites of Battle results in a VERY bare-bones description of a Chapter, but it can be used as a framework to further develop its background (and more importantly, its 'character'), whether Codex, Divergent, or Unusual. Dark Apostle Thirst
So, basicly an advanced random name generator (now including progenitor, homeworld facts, and other random information!). Some people would use it, some wouldn't. Me, I'm despairing for the IT for the Burning Hands, such are the amount of ideas I have, so please keep me away from it <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/222916-you-liber-astartes-and-dw-rites-of-battle/#findComment-2665282 Share on other sites
