Quick Daemon Prince Question

Greetings,

Just a quick question... I've recently bought one of the new Daemon Prince models and assembled him how the instructions show the 40k version (which looks similar to the old Daemon Prince except with clawed hands).

However, I will be buying a second DP soon and wanted him to look different. So I was wondering if you guys think modeling my second DP like the one on the cover of the box (which is the Warhammer Fantasy model with the Sword arm), would that be allowed in 40k tournaments? Or would people complain that it is the Fantasy Daemon Prince... I would place him on the Circle base, instead of the square base of course...

I'm fairly new to the game and just wondered what the general consensus is on the Tourny scene? Or is it not a big deal, and I'm just worrying over nothing.. haha.

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

when modeling my deamon prince i used the 40k body and leg armor but used the sword arm and the matching arm to go with it, i personally don't like the clawed arms, i also but the wings on it. and as long as you have him on the right sized base it wouldn't matter at all, at least i can't see it mattering. as an example Deamons use the same models for 40k and Fantasy i have a friend who uses the same models to play both games with magnetized bases to switch between square and round bases depending on what game she is playing. Good Luck modeling your deamon princes, and remember wings are awesome on deamon princes!!!

It's the correct GW model on the correct sized base, so how you assemble the kit is up to you. Anyone who raises a stink is in the wrong. <_<

The only time you'd typically run into trouble is if the model is a lot smaller than the 'normal' GW counterpart, the base is smaller, or it's a vast divergence from WYSIWYG. Not using GW models may be a no-no depending on the tourney, but what you are talking about should be fine.
