Building Defiler Legs

hey guys i recently bought a $21.00 box of chaos stuff at my local game store i bought it because it was a 10 man Chaos Space Marine squad, 2 Chaos Terminators, a Chaos Lord/Sorcerer in terminator armor bitz with body, and the best part a defiler (missing legs :D ). I've decided to make the two terminators into a reaper autocannon w/ powerfist guy and a comi-flamer w/ power weapon guy, and to make the Chaos Sorcerer in Terminator armor who turned out quite well. i made a standard 10 man squad with a melta-gun and flamer, and a champion with a power fist and plasma pistol (he was already made and painted quite well so i figured he could stay that way, and it only had the melta gun and flamer bits). The major problem is makeing the legs/close combat weapons for the defiler, it has all the parts for the main body(like the battlecannon and the reaper autocannon and the twin-linked flamers), the head, and the part that connects the body to the lower half (it looks like the part that connects the Dreadnought's legs to the upper body), i can't figure out what i should do to make the legs/arms. At first i thought about makeing them out of sprue but all of my attempts at makeing things out of sprue has gone quite wrong, then i thought about using the copper wire i'd bought for modeling and twisting a few lengths together to make tentacle like legs. The problem i ran into with the tentacle legs is how to attach them to the body; others at the local game store suggested making a green stuff lower portion that i could stick them in, but i don't know how to make it look right as i've never really worked with green stuff before. Also i don't know how games workshop would feel about me fielding my defiler looking like so, i would use the "i wanted it to look more like a deamon" excuse but would they still let me field it? So i'm asking here to make use of the what i'm assuming is a large knowledge base on conversions/modeling for advice on how to acomplish what i've described or for other ways to make legs/arms. I think it would be neat to see a Defiler with Leman Russ tracks instead of legs, with spikes and stuff sticking out. If you can get ahold of the lower hull and tracks to a Leman Russ, Chimera, Rhino, or some other form of tracked vehicle/tank, just build the "body" of the Defiler and mount it on that.

 

Barring that, there are places on eBay and in bits stores that will sell just the legs.
