Darq Hunter
Last year when Dave Taylor posted his thunderwolves I was inspired. I started last year with one and I have been slowly getting more thunderwolves along with doing other things... playing games, painting other models, work, etc. Mjolnir posted his and well, I felt inspired to finally take pics of mine. One is finished and is sitting in the display case at my local GW but these three are still in progress. I used the Canis model as well but mine are different enough. You can definitely see the cues and influences Dave Taylor had on mine. These are my ccw/bolter, MotW and melta TWs. http://i.imgur.com/lYFO8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nyJ20.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TLvfF.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223192-svens-thunderwolves/ Share on other sites
MaveriK
you know if the Fang had an episode, I'd say it's "THUNDERWOLF" week from the recent threads. They look great! good job! I like what you did with the jaw. Looking forward to when they are done. Wulfebane
I agree with the jaw comment. I most especially love the putty work on the manes.. though it sorta falls flat on the tails. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223192-svens-thunderwolves/#findComment-2668647 Share on other sites
Darq Hunter
Tails are admittedly harder to work on than any other part. I agree, they aren't the best. The rearing up one will be fuller and fluffier. It's also a little weak where it joins with the body. Thanks for the compliments on the jaw. He's my first conversion ever. In fact, these are my first forays into green stuff and converting. Fur is pretty hard to make it look like anything other than a bit of playdough with toothpick holes. Your manes look like you took the actual model and simply painted it green. Nearly indistinguishable from the GW fur. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223192-svens-thunderwolves/#findComment-2668718 Share on other sites
