Question

Hello wargamers, I just have a little question that I needed to ask before I started my new (second) DIY Chapter's Index Astartes post. My friends and I recently played a big 4th War of Armageddon campaign, and we said that my DIY Chapter, the Knights Mortalis, appeared for the first time in Imperial history to aid the defenders of Armageddon. I wanted to ask if it would be ok if I mentioned that in my IA article (it won't just be a mention, I should add). Do you think that would be a realistic addition or just something that people would see me trying to awesomize my Chapter with? I'm not really sure and I'd appreciate it a lot if you guys could help me out here.

So, for the second time in the past three (I think) posts, I'm asking if you can post your sacred opinion down in a reply below. Thank you and the Space Marines of the Knights Mortalis are in your debt!

While by no means an expert, I think it's generally safe to have your homebrew chapter appear in any battle in which multiple chapters took part, AND which was not a signature/turning point battle for a particular canon chapter. When it comes to pre-existing canon, a modest contribution to a well-known engagement always seems safer than dropping your gang in as big-time heroes. The major heroics are better reserved for the actions you come up with yourself.

Like CantonWC said there has only been 3 wars for Armegeddon, 1 against Chaos and 2 against Orks. The 3rd is a bit of a continous one though. I'm guessing you guys might have jumped into the future and played in the 4th. I would suggest the easiest way to work this into your background have it be the 4th War of Legegeddon ;) (or some, better sounding name). This means you can keep all the background you have but it doesn't go against the current background. Otherwise, you'll be fighting in an Imperium that doesn't exist yet.

4th war for Armageddon? There were only three wars. If you want to say they showed up and fought in the 3rd war, that's fine, because plenty of Chapters fought in the war. But don't do something silly like having your Chapter save the Ultramarines.

Joke for the consecrated:

They are obviously from the most glorious 27th Founding.
