Makin' progress!

Well I'm sure they're not "hall of honor" worthy, but I'd say I'm definitely making improvements! Here are some pics of my first Space Marine ever, next to my 11th Marine. I think I'm taking some steps in the right direction :P

Here's a shot of my army so far, maybe I'll actually get to play one day!

Thanks guys! I haven't played a game of 40k yet so I have primarily been building models that I like over what will be tactically best on the table since I don't have any experience to go on. The multi-melta and heavy bolter are from the 5 man devastator squad, which I believe I have heard they're not much good as a unit on the table. I wish I would have figured that out before I bought it!

I think what's best on the table really just depends on your play style, 1 sec I'll get some links:

I would recommend the first one, the other two are secondry...

Way of the water warrior

Tactical Treatise

Tactics of the Astartes

And I think these are well painted models, are these your first marines?

Thanks for the links, I'll start reading up! Yeah the pic of my army so far is everything that I've ever painted. I'm not sure what I'll paint next but I'd like to get something that will be a useful addition to what I have started. I know I need more marines, but I'd like to paint something bigger next. Maybe a Venerable or Iron Clad Dread?

Very nice, I must admit you seem to learn a lot faster than me! Might I suggest that you put a little tiny dot of white at the back of the eyes? It really makes them 'Pop' :o

white at the very back? Don't suppose you happen to have an example of what that looks like do ya? :)

Those eyes look waaaay better than mine!! I'll have to give that a shot though and see how they turn out on the next marine!

Hey they look really nice, the flames are superb. Are you adding a touch of water to your paint?

Thanks! I do add a bit of water to to the paints on a dry pallete prior to putting it on the model. I'm still experimenting on how much water to use though. Sometimes i add too much, and sometimes not enough. The librarian is heavy with paint because I put a layer of blue on him, then decided it was way to dark, so had to put a few layers of a lighter blue to make it look better.
