Been working with this on and off for a few years. Not too many painting hours though- family, work and other hobbies take alot of time :P . I have two decent armylists that I can make from these models with a few varaiton possibilities.

First of the whole army

When it comes to the whole painting-yellow-problem I have one advice: Prime white!

My recipe:

White spray primer

Diluted sunburst yellow

Wash with very diluted Blazing orange

Highlight with sunburst yellow mixed with skullwhite. I always highlight with very diluted paint and go over the minis three times with more an more white in the mix.

Nice! I like how smooth the yellow has gone on. I'm not sure if they're not finished or if you've missed it, but some of the skulls seem to still be yellow.. Like on the dreads and lascannon.

Also, can we have a shot of the assault squad? :)

Well, I figured that the skulls where a part of the arnour ornamentation and not actual skulls, so there would be nothing strange if they have the same color as the armour. But I guess it could look unfinished since most skulls you see are, well, skull-colored.

The only pic I have of the assault squad is this:

Really, Really nice!

Been working on my force for many, many years and still not close to this!

Love the weathering, still trying to figure out how to replicate a similar effect on my vehicles....

(Wipes rogue tear from eye, moves toward work station muttering assorted blasphemies)

Sponge. I mixed black and orange into a dark brown (darker than regular rust) dipped a small piece of spongen (from a blisterpack or army foam tray leftovers) in it and applied it along the edges of the models. I then put a thin line of white/yellow underneath the bigger patches. I then brushed on dark brown pigment on the lower parts of the minis and the bases to make them look muddy

Hmm, VERY good point. Well, if I went your way then I'd get a lot done faster  But it is something to consider. Were glyphs and images on Roman or medieval armor ... painted? The question is rhetorical here, but I will attempt research in the matter because I'm working on a more "real" effect with my army.

And the sponge idea is what I needed for the dirt on my armor. I'll give that a try, thanks!

Thanks! I must have forgotten to say that your army looks truly amazing!

You blended the entire thing.... :) God... Good work... and stamina. It does look good! Any new project in the horrisont now that you are done?

Not really no. Someday I would like a second army, probably nidz or eldar so I can play with friends who doesn´t have their own army. And I might add a piece here and there -a speeder, a librarian some more termies and tacticals. And start writing my 2k list of course. But all those things lay in the future, for now it´s time for gaming :D

Since you al posted such nice comments I decided to upload som more pics. Some details (so you can se how sloppy my paintjob really is) and some individual models.
