Pig Of Sparta
I still look on Orar fondly, even after all this time ;) glad he's provided you with inspiration. Look forward to seeing your use of his armour variant. Aside from the tyrant himself (better pictures of which can be found further down this very forum) if you look in the middle of the top pic, you should just be able to make out a blue and white terminator. That's the only other Badab project I have just now. It's the 1st Co. Captain of the Novamarines from Badab War pt I. He's called Mordaci Blaylock an his entry in the IA almost demanded that a conversion be made to represent him :). I'll get some pics up of him next time I borrow my old man's camera as the one on my phone just isn't good enough to take pictures of stuff that small! cheers James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223640-inache-sparta-variant-stormraven/page/2/#findComment-2687999 Share on other sites

Pig Of Sparta
Finally got some more work done on this project. After waiting patiently for the GK release date, then waiting even more patiently for bits sites to recieve their orders I managed to get a hold of the parts I wanted to use for the pilot of the Stormraven. I figured since he was a Grey Knight and not a techmarine (although I still fail to see why Techmarines fly BA and their successors Stormravens. Surely they are far too valuable to risk being shot out of the sky Mr Ward...) he should look the part. Should also help illustrate the psychic pilot/fortitude ability of the craft: http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/SRpilot1.jpghttp://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/SRpilot2.jpg I've also now made a start on the rest of the army: http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/armypreview1.jpg Just need to get the funds together for another unit of terminators and a dreadknight and I've got a very small 1500pt army :cuss Now to figure out a nice quick, effective but good looking method of painting them... Task Force Gauntlet
That pilot looks good, if I ever do a GK stormraven I'll do that. Pig Of Sparta
Thanks for the replies folks. Finally got my ass in gear and got started on painting: http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p456/pigofsparta/Grey%20Knights/StormRaven1.jpg (figured I'd get started on something so that the army aren't literally 'grey' knights forever, and I'm waiting on some Silver Primer and a dreadknight to show up). I decided to go with what GW did with their GK vehicles which was to finish them in slightly darker tones so that they wouldn't outshine the infantry although the pilot will be painted in the same way as the rest of the infantry mini's for consitency. Accordingly I sprayed everything black and equipped with a pot of Boltgun Metal and a tank brush began painting everything silver. I then shaded the recesses with watered down Asurmen Blue before glazing the whole thing (perhaps not my smartest plan but it sort of worked...) with Asurmen Blue. I've also started some detailing, but there's still a lot to do... cheers James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223640-inache-sparta-variant-stormraven/page/2/#findComment-2732385 Share on other sites
dublindawg
The stormraven looks awesome. by extending the back of the ship it places the wings more centered on it and gives it a balanced look. Can't wait to see the finished model!
