Space Wolves and Trophies?

While assembling my new Razorback the other night I was looking through my Chaos Terminator Lord's sprues before I handed them over to my friend (and new chaos player)

I found a hangy bit of a human skull and a large tusk hanging from a hook. I plucked it off the sprue, cleaned it up, and glued it onto my Razorback's turret.

When I showed my Blood Angels friend, he gave me a weird look and said "Space Marines don't take trophies."

So I says to him, "Well yeah, maybe your pansy book-thumpers don't, but my Chapter is headed by a guy who took a daemonweapon and had it re-forged. I'm pretty sure the skulls of chaos punks are fair game for trophies."

So, what do you think? I see no reason why the Space Wolves wouldn't take skulls or any other objects from their fallen enemies. This isn't exactly "SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!" More like, "I want to remember this.."

with Space Wolves, there is nothing wrong with it! especially if Fenrisian culture does it as a norm when fighting for land. I do it all the time with my army! and the 13th Company does it out of survival, while upgrading duct tape style modifications LOL. The Wolves have taken an Imperial ship before, kinda peeve allot of people because of it.
I know this is not canon by any stretch but....

I watched the "Ultramarines" Movie. There is a character that is a Chaplin with the Imperial Fists and he wears a bandoleer of skulls.

That is so win. I should do that with a wolf priest of mine, now that my Vampire Counts have supplied a surplus of skulls.

Every tooth, pelt, wolf tail is a trophy of a kill. Logan Grimnar's own axe is a chaos reforge (as you stated).

As well, according to the 'Space Wolf Omnibus' series, the fleet of starships that the SW own are trophies from battles with other factions and no two are similar. The SW are very practical in this regard, since they (atleast Berek Thunderfist) habitually spearhead into other battlecruisers or starcraft for the sole purpose of boarding the vessel. Assuming they didn't blow up in the process.. and naturally win... that boarded vessel is "finders, keepers" in the mind of a SW.

Actaully alot of Space Marine chapters take throphies. Silver Skulls come to mind right off. Known for being head hunters.

Alot of the early fluff has that sorta stuff in it. My Friend played Syths of the Emperor back then, and he had ork heads on alot of his vehicles. Remember Ork heads live for 2 to 3 days. So he had on one his Dreadnought banner pole and 2 on a rhino. Letting them see the end of their Waaaagh! First hand. And giving the ork player a chance to get a heroe back or 2 if he can capture then.

As has been said the Space Wolves take trophies as they see fit.

Other space marine chapters also take them at certain times. In the Soul Drinkers books before that chapter is forced to go renegade the assault sergeant Telos makes a particularly impressive kill in combat against a alrge mutant leader. It is stated that the leader of the force would allow him to keep a horn to show his kill. This is a pretty clear indication that other space marine chapters are quite happy to take trophies, not just the space wolves
