Freman Bloodglaive
I was looking at my Thunderlord and the other five Mythicast models waiting for paint and (having ordered Canis) I began to wonder about the potential army I could make. Although I'd have to order more thunderwolves, and more normal wolves, I could make an army that consists of Canis, three thunderlords, three iron priests, fifteen thunderwolves, and a heap of Fenrisian wolves. An insane army of course, that relies totally on annihilation always being s victory condition, but wouldn't it be cool? Growler67
I don't see your idea as too disimilar to nearly ALL Bike Forces, the main difference being all the ablative wounds the Fenresian Wolves can provide. They are after all "Cavalry" and so I generally equate, or rather catagorize them the same as Bikes. Knock yourself out :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223782-is-anyone-else-tempted-by-the-wolf-army/#findComment-2675875 Share on other sites
Skarvald the Troll-faced
Difference is that bikes while not able to assault into buildings (like cavalry) at least have the shooting capabilities and at least CAN hurt things in buildings. Natanael
And that the bikes can hold objectives. And that is what makes this a wonky but very fun army and all-bike armies kinda OK. I think the army would be cool to play and face tough. - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223782-is-anyone-else-tempted-by-the-wolf-army/#findComment-2676049 Share on other sites
Skarvald the Troll-faced
Actually, the way the list should be is x3 big squads of Thunderwolves with 2-3 Wolf Lords, Canis Wolf Born, x2-3 squads of Fenrisian Wolves, Wolf Scouts and then 10 man Grey Hunter squads without vehicles. I was kinda lazy to count the points, but I'm afraid that the point cup will be reached after Wolf Scouts or even before of them :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223782-is-anyone-else-tempted-by-the-wolf-army/#findComment-2676161 Share on other sites

Brings the Hobbit image of Wargs yapping and howling at the bottom of the trees while the Dwarves, Wizard and Hobbit cower in the treetops. They could mow down all the little things like Guardsman platoons or other hordes.. hmm... Natanael
To make this work I'd take 4 Lords on TWC, a squad of 5 TWC, 2x5 GHs with a melta each, maybe in RBs, and then as many IPs on TWC that I can get. The Lords are very solid, and kinda hard to kill when in the TWC or IP squads. Then you just split them off to go killing. Fen wolves for your lords (2 each) is great also. That coul work in a 1500-2000p game, I think. - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/223782-is-anyone-else-tempted-by-the-wolf-army/#findComment-2677085 Share on other sites
