With a deafening booom the first of the iron warriors seige guns opened fire. Vulkan barely registered it his attention focused on the emporors children pouring fire onto the salamanders defensive cordon. Corax had been right they were cut off unable to escape as his legion of warriors were cut down. though he had cursed his brothers for leaving him to protect the dropsite alone he realised that they had been right.

he felt only a fraction of satisfaction that a few of his warriors had escaped upon his thunderhawk the obsidian chariot. to his right he saw Ka'tash the bearer of the unbound flame, the standard engulfed in a blazing black flame, decapitated by a shreiking chain axe. Vulkan charged and caught the banner before it fell to the dark soil stained with the crimson blood of the astartes.

they were finished, doomed in this final stand against the world eaters. as the braying war cries increased in volume and tempo vulkan saw the form his death would take and his heart broke to see a brother so changed by his treachery. Angron the primarch of the world eaters strode forward. gone were the signs of imperial allegiance were gone instead replaced by eye aching symbols and patterns. Vulkan felt a glowing tear crawl from his eye red like the heart of a volcano. realsising that someone must take word of the other legions treachery he hardened his heart to what he knew he must do.

He remembered the writings on one of the far flung worlds his fleet had encountered, where amongst a dark tomb he had found scores of dead metal skeletons. he had found a network of teleport links that led from one side of the galaxy to another. only one other new of this. magnus. he had seen the memories inside of Vulkan's mind and had spoken to him of it. Magnus knew of another set of tunnels through the warp. but when magnus said he had searched for the tunnels in the warp he had been unable to find them. together they had begun to unravel the secrets of the writings and vulkan had finished what they had begun. but before he had been able to tell magnus of this news he had been called to istvaan.

As he prepared to begin the access words he thought about the name he had given them, a name that seemed oddly fitting though he didn't know why, he had named it the song of entropy. he began them as the world eaters charged with the savage, brutal glee in their eyes. vulkan never faultered in his chant even as Angron shoved his warriors aside to get to Vulkan. Vulkan drew his spear all the while chanting. as Angron let out an earspliting roar vulkan walked slowly yet steadily forward to meet his deranged brother. Angron batted aside vulkans spear and brought his chainaxes down to cleave vulkan in two. Vulkan smiled sadly and finished chanting. and then he was gone... [/size]

Did they discover the Webway?

It looks good though but please, please work on punctuation and capitalising letters! And just a small tiny thing, which would probably not annoy anyone but me, but this part: "...the iron warriors seige guns opened fire. Vulkan barely registered it his attention focused on the emporors children pouring fire onto the salamanders defensive cordon" He "barely" registered that the Iron Warriors opened fire!? Vulkan is a Primarch, there is nothing he "barely" registers. Especially in a battle ;)

And wait, can Magnus read Primarchs' minds? Aren't they protected against that kinda stuff?

Sorry to be nitpicky, I'm just in that kinda mood you know :)

Not sure. The tunnels were meant to be the way necrons phase in and out of real space but it's not in the warp. Vulkan was focusing on seeing which of his brothers would be sent to kill him and as the iron warriors seige guns weren't the immediate threat to him and his sons he basically ignored them.
