BLACK BLΠFLY
It is for sure. Here is their kill tally from a four round tournament this weekend: Game #1 versus Salamanders: Two full tactical squads, 10 assault terminators, predator, landspeeder Game #2 versus Daemons: Fateweaver, two full squads of Fiends, four Blood Crushers, Tzneetch Herald Game #3 versus orks: Two full squads of Slugga Boyz, three killa kanz (one more turn and they could have taken out Ghaz plus some more orks) Game #4 versus CSM: 2x Tzneetch Prince, 8 Berzerkers, dreadnaught, defiler G :)
The Yncarne
I am currently running two Chaplains in my DoA list. The Chaplain might seem like overkill with the SG since they are fearless and have master crafted weapons but I've found that with WS4 the ability to reroll all failed hits is worth it. This weekend I fought a daemon army and my unit killed two full squads of fiends, the Fateweaver and four complex Bloodcrushers... You can't complain about those results. In my mind with a Priest attached as well as Dante they are a deathstar level unit. Dante was charging with eight attacks since the Sanguinor was always close by and Chapter banner in the SG... Crazy. G ;) Is this after your tourney? I asked if you had tried this at that time. :) On point, I still think a fist belongs elsewhere.
BLACK BLΠFLY
The tourney was before I decided to run a power fist chappy. I am modeling him now. :) G
d503
I'd do it. The Chap could split off and go for some seperate target as well, delivery the fist to a juicy mech target. And only ten points as well. This. In a world of mech targets and kill points, running all the others into a squad and splitting the chaplain off to grease a rhino may win you the game. I use this squad a lot: Chaplain, power fist, jump pack RAS, twin lightning claw sergeant. This is a sickeningly awesome combo, and I have used it in a fair few games. The sergeant with re-rolls to hit and wound is a beast, and the chaplain covers the squad against vehicles. I hide from walkers as they eat chaplains :(
Lord Fancy Pants
I'm thinking about running on a power fist on my Chaplain. It's only ten points and I think it will be really good versus mech. What do you guys think? Am I missing something? The PF is +15 points for a chaplain. It's +10 points for an SG model to upgrade. Unless you were meaning to say it's 10 points cheaper than a standard PF upgrade... *edit* I noticed on your blog that you posted that it was cheaper than the IP you've been running, so I take it that you did think it costed only +10. It's the same cost as using an IP, so you've already got the points in your list for it.
Vilicate
Almost always I give my Chaplain a power fist. It's a great utility tool. Power Fists on WS 5 models are pretty awesome, they actually hit more than half the time.
The Yncarne
The tourney was before I decided to run a power fist chappy. I am modeling him now. ;) G :pinch: Actually, I was referring to running a Chaplain with a SG squad. I think the force multipliers in a DoA army is so important and while you may not always want to run a Chaplain with a squad already fearless and reroll one attack, rerolling them all (especially with a banner) really pushes it from great to awesome. Other combos with Dante and Astarath really excite me. Have fun with the powerfist!
BLACK BLΠFLY
Agreed... It's all about the force multipliers. :pinch:
