Brother Kovash
I don't know if surviving an encounter with Cypher would necessitate his becoming privy to the secrets of the Chapter. True, it would give him a good reputation with the members of the Inner Circle, but probably wouldn't cause them to extend him membership. To other Dark Angels, he's a hero, somebody who faced down someone who appeared to be a particularly dangerous Chaos Lord or Renegade Champion... indeed, this is probably how he sees himself. It's not like Cypher introduces himself before blasting away like Clint Eastwood. Maybe not the act of fighting Cypher gets him his own Inner Circle membership card, but don't think that Cypher would be taunting our good friend during the whole fight, filling his head with lies and deceit? Like it or not, the Inner Circle would have to face the facts that they have a battle-brother who may have inadvertently heard some of their dark secrets, but can't just scrub his mind because of his popularity. I'd think one of the Company Masters would grab this guy for his command squad, just to keep an eye on him and find out what he has learned. What I said, plus what he said! :D I like the idea that a Hero of the Chapter can't be trusted by the Chapter's shadowy leadership. He's the sole survivor, and who says Cypher had to tell him anything while they fought... but who's to say he didn't? The Inner Circle would have to keep tabs on him, just to be sure. Very nice. Viray
Im really only starting my Dark Angel journey and of the fluff i read i can only see the Dark Angels hunt Cypher, but no fluff to say he was nearly caught or wounded, so i seen that as a bit of a void for my character. He is a bit cheap i suppose and his stats could be better. Il wotk on it today and post later along with the conversion (which i quite like) Iv also got manflu so may end up sleeping the day away! (if the we uns let me) Actually, I think the Dark Angels have caught him at least once, but he was wisked away by some unknown power. Anyway, not like this point matters too much as others have offered very good suggestions for your fluff already. Freman Bloodglaive
I don't think that Cypher is one to taunt Dark Angels (or anyone) in combat. As I understand it he's based off a Clint Eastwood role (Pale Rider?) and Clint isn't renowned for being loquacious. More a scowl, a nod, and the roar of a 44 Magnum. And this is diffrent from any other chaos scum how??? Not every Chaos warrior is after the same thing. They don't all run around screaming "Death to the False Emperor!"; many turned to Chaos simply in hopes of gaining more power. So if he fills the minds of either falsehoods, or of TRUTHS about the DA that were kept secret from them...
