Dante dropping into combat

Okay so I have this weird thought in my head but I'm not sure if I'm correct on this.

If an IC, let's for example take Dante deep strikes within two inch of a unit in combat does he count as joining the unit? I might have missed something but as far as I can tell you can join a unit upon deep strike if you end up within two inch.

Now if this is possible would Dante then join the combat in that same turn and would he count as charging? I think he can fight in that turn but wouldn't count as charging.

I thought it might be a fun trick to deny shooting at Dante after deep strike as well as having the option of pulling the squad out in the opponents next turn using hit and run. Anyways any thoughts on legality or uses for this tactic?

I would say no, because a unit that deep strikes cannot assault the same turn it deep strikes, further, the unit that Dante Joined would be in jeopardy of not being able to assault, because they have been joined by a unit that cannot assault that turn, like if a tac squad fired there HW, even though only one model fired, the whole unit can not assault because of it.
