Brother 'Ussell
A recent snap of my finally finished shooty squad. I've only recently been able to get back to painting with any kind of regularity. I've been working on this squad for quite awhile now too, I'm a slow painter. Thought I'd share with my Templar Brothers. I'll add some more as I finish them. Firepower
Looks like a solid start to me, sans the shooty choice :P. The brownish orange on the heraldry and banner seems a bit out of place though, seeing how clean the rest of the colors are. The scripture work is particularly nice: even though I've never been a fan of redundancy like writing "Templar" on a Templar, there's no denying that the detail work has been done very well. Interesting basing too: are those scratch made or store bought? Marshal Laeroth
I'm actually quite impressed with you work on the faces. It is something that alludes me and is one of the reasons why every one of my marines are helmeted. Overall, a most excellent job! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224487-sharing-some-pics/#findComment-2684861 Share on other sites
Brother 'Ussell
It's hard to tell but the colours on the banner and the greaves on the marines is red and gold. The red ties in with the bolters and the gold, well nothing actually, but black and gold look good with one another. Â I cast the bases with woodland scenics molds and then trimmed them down to base size. I plan on making some of my own rock molds this summer. Â I enjoy painting bare headed marines, helps break up the monotany of black power armor all the time, that's also why I started added squad banners and markings to them to keep them interesting. Â I've started on a close combat squad I'm painting next, been gathering all the bits for it for awhile now. Krikey
Really nice job on the bare heads and the paint jobs are very clean and smooth. I feel your pain on the black armor. styygens
That's really great work. The faces show great attention to detail. Count me as another fan of the bases; very unique and well done. I especially like how the red bolters add some flair. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224487-sharing-some-pics/#findComment-2684932 Share on other sites

Makers
Not a fan of the silver packs, but besides that, the detail is awesome. Nice work man. And I like the gold addition, its what separates your squad from others. Von Muller
Very nice mate. I find red an odd colour to paint, it always goes orange. your whites nice and clean. Â Good job mate, looking forward to more ... Â I also paint v-e-r-y slowly, batch painting helps speed things up but i never enjoy it. marine77
Your models are very nice. The skin work is nice and smooth. Your highlighting is done well without overdoing it. You have a slick little squad there. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224487-sharing-some-pics/#findComment-2685526 Share on other sites
Eberious
Very nice bolter squad you have there, my only crit is they are all pointing/looking the same way. From a purely gaming view, while the bases are sweet you could be opening your guys up there and in line of sight behind low cover. Brother 'Ussell
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! I knew sharing with my Brothers in black was a good idea <_<  I hope to eventually get a better setup for taking pictures then on my kitchen counter, alot of the details aren't visible in that shot. You can sort of see the little bit of weathering I did on thier legs, but most of the scripture on the armour and the scratches can't be seen. If I round up some lights and break out my tripod maybe I can get better shots of the last few members of this squad if you guys are interested. The first 4 or so I did take half decent shots of, I like to think I improved a bit over the course of painting this squad, at the very least my weathering techniques did as a result of starting to research historical modeling. If your interested here is the link to my Templars Gallery here at the BnC. Better Photos  I've been playing around with different mock ups for the close combat squad i'm doing next. I ordered a DA upgrade kit a few weeks ago along with a BT one, so I've been mixing and matching some stuff. Alot of the DA bits are just too Dark Angelish for my tastes but there is a few good pieces in there. I also need to decide on how I'm going to base this squad, I want it to tie in with the others but also feel the need to try some new stuff. Dennis
That's some solid work you got there, really nicely done. I've been taking pictures with my wifes camera. here's a work in progress shot from this morning of the first member of my new close combat squad. As you can see I'm using one of the DA robed running bodies with a Templar torso. I've modified the sword arm to give him more of a dynamic pose. His bolt pistol arm will be at his side. I'm also using a powerplant from the DA upgrade but it still needs some surgery to remove some unwanted icons :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224487-sharing-some-pics/#findComment-2687655 Share on other sites
Brother 'Ussell
Sorry to double post, I wanted some feedback on the Crusade banner I've designed. Hoping it's not too complicated to paint. Trignama
I like it, and it looks rather detailed..... but with a little time and a lot of cleanup work, don't think it will be too hard.
