The Desolation Hawks

Recommended Posts

Well, as my first post here, I wanted to introduce my chapter, the Desolation Hawks.

http://i699.photobucket.com/albums/vv360/Spartan-039/dh3.jpg This is the color scheme of the chapter.

A chapter of the 6th Founding, the Desolation Hawks are a descendent of the Imperial Fists but most of the facts of their origin are shrouded in legend. But the original master of the Desolation Hawks, Master Norn, supposdly fought in two Black Crusades before finally sucumbing in the final actions of the Third Black Crusade. Since then, the Desolation fought bravely in many engagements, mostly in fighting orks on the Eastern Fringe. Soon, the chapter built it's first fortress-monestary on Batarax Prime, the main planet in the Batarax system, with recruiting stations created in neighboring systems to help make up for losses against the orks.

But as with many things; facts fade into legend and those legends fade as well. After over two millenium of honorable war against the orks, a Waaagh! attacks the Batarax system in a surprise and daring raid during 735 M33. The ork Warlord Gutgrabba' soon crash-landed a rok fortress near the north pole in an attempt to deploy his ground troops as his fleet engaged the orbital defense grid. Unfortunatly, the defense grid was built on a design from an STC artifact found in a drifting space hulk over a century earlier.

The relic provided a superior design of a laser weapon, not a lance weapon, but a rapid-fire laser with considerably less power drain. This weapon, mounted not only on the defense platforms, but on the battlebarge Wrath of the Hawks as well.

More will be posted later on, when I get to write some more. But that STC artifact shall definatly be a part of the future.

Comments and critisms are welcome, especially if it can help me in any errors in dates or established fluff.

Hello and welcome in the Liber.

First, I would like to ask what is the purpose of this article? What you have here is practically story and while there is nothing wrong with it, this is not (entirely) aim of this forum.

The Liber Astartes forum's purpose is development and creation of DIY Chapters. With this purpose in mind, the major focus of DIYers is giving our Chapters personality and character.

If you want to see the end result of such effort, looky here (the pictures are click-able ;) ). We have also usefull guides for new members, Guide to DIYing and Octaguide 2.0.

If you have any additional questions, just ask and thou shall receive.

Thanks for the links, they were incrediablly helpful.

As for the purose, I was trying to get some background material for the chapter.

And, as a new space marine player, I haven't had much experiance in the character of chapters.

But I do have a question; what kind of characteristics do descendents of the Imperial Fists have?

But I do have a question; what kind of characteristics do descendents of the Imperial Fists have?

They are stubborn...

This trait is common for gene-line of Dorn, you are free to invent any other for your Chapter.

Wow, I would have guessed something else. But hey, it works. Thanks for the help, now to develop a philosphy for them.
