d503
its a nice army, but do you have any closeups? Its hard to assess the quality of the painting from a fuzzy longshot
chewielight
my photo fu is weak I am in the process of waiting for a light box to help but there are more up close pictures in my album
Sun Reaver
As said earlier a couple close up shots would be much appreciated as we can comment and awe at your models. But from the big picture, your army looks very big and nice, I particularly like the bright red on your tanks. Sun Reaver

chewielight
Thanks it has taken some time to get all those together. From looking at the pictures the paint looks bad but in person it looks ok. I need to learn how to take better pictures.
Tabgoi
I hear you on the time and the pictures. Its not going to be pretty when I start posting pics of my army as it gets repainted, though the room has good lighting so all I really need is a clear day. Unfortunately too much school, which is convienently where I make most of my posts from.
chewielight
I still need to get some markings on these guys. I also have alot of work to do on a few of them for eyes and final highlights. I will say one thing about pictures like this is really makes the meh stand out and now I know what I need to work on. Sad that the entire army is a work in progress but it will come along as I have time. Any advise on painting that I might be missing. Better yet how can I make my pictures come out better. Tabgoi
Check out this area of the B&C: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showforum=173 There is some great information on how to take good pics and how to clean them up. There are tutorials on how to provide difuse lighting, camera positioning and what not. It is a great area, even if some of it is a bit more involved than I can get into right now. chewielight
Well I picked up a light box and tripod so I can see about some better shots. Thanks for the links and advise. I have an upcoming Apoc game coming up that I might get all of my guys on the table. 10k per side. I picked up some more termi boxes. I want to field a first company all vets. I might get some sternguard rolling as well. My next big purchase will be a thunderhawk but that is in the future. Stayed tuned.
chewielight
Almost finished with my Sanguinary Guard. Got some Vanguard vets done (making some bases now) LOTS OF PICTURES HERE. I edited these so to cut down on the pixelation issue. Let me know what you think.
Tabgoi
Its kind of hard to tell, the pictures look very pixellated. It makes taking in any details extremely hard. Also, just a guess but I think you are using a bit too much light, I can see the glare well over the highlights, but once again they are hard to take in. chewielight
Yeah seeing them on here I can see that. SO back to the drawing board. The orginal ones were dark and I over did the pictures it seems. I will post the ones without adjusting them. Here is one a redo. I hope this one shows up better. Tabgoi
This one is a lot better, but we are still losing the highlights to glare. But still, looks very clean for the most part. Good work on the wings on the sword, but it looks like you let the back pack wings plain white. It looks like you need to touch up the gold on the legs where the drybrush got a little overzealous. The base is however completely epic, and the blood drops look like they have some real depth to them. I actually really like the blue on the lenses. chewielight
Yeah the base is part of my lava theme. Thanks for the feedback. The blue, red are from a new type of paint I am using and it is just crazy good. W&N water oil paints. Takes days to dry but is just deep and rich. I am going to try to work with a black background on these guys to see if I can reduce the glare.
Losfer Werds
The first few pictures weren't doing your painting skills very much justice. That last one looks great, but you defiantly need to add some kind of shading to the wings so that they don't looks so flat. I'd also do something with the bolter, black is great for the regular marines but for the SG that bolter needs to look like it was specially crafted for the chapter's most elite warriors.
