SO been fed up with the poor state my "Placeholder" Land raider is, i decided to make progress on him.

There is a large choice of turrets, weapons, tracks for Baneblades/Fellblades etc, their is 2 sizes for the tracks, Baneblade size, and Landraider size.

 

And those tracks on the Skullraider is the Oppressor pattern tracks.

So after some time, i've finnaly got one of the order i passed to make Firewarriors for my Mech allies.

And like explained the riptide conversion will be used has a...Riptide, but latelly since, my Defilers are all broken, i've decided for simplicity and also for the sake to play with it, without having to finish the rest of the allies, to play him has a Defiler, and both the impression of the players and the way it looks on the table, has convonced me to make a second one.

 

Well i had to anyway, if i wanted to use both machines in a game, would have been hard with just one model.

 

But i decided that, even if they will have a similar look and stand, they will be different enough that you don't mistake them for one another.

I really like the feel he give, and the way he stands on the field, he really dominate the battlefield( well he is still smaller then a Wraithknight, thats for sure, but he is more awesome ;p).

 

As to the parts, we have obviously Tau with the Riptide legs, Soulgrinder with the torso and arms, Forgefiend with the weapons, Necrosphinx from battle for the Head and the tail and the Deamon Chariot of blood for the Armor plates and the tail blade.

So not much work done lately.

 

Last month though i found an awesome kit at the Crisis-con in Antwerp.

Yup its the 15mm ( 115mm high) Crusader Leviathan from Dreamforge, and for the measly sum of 40euro, darn i love this kit, so full of details and parts, even though some of those parts are quite hard to assemble correctly.

 

I plan on using him has a World Eaters Chaos Contemptor, he's got the perfect look for the job, and its one of the best looking mechas i've seen on a table for a long long time.

 

A few pieces added to make him "Khorney" Swapped the Crusader head with one of the Lord of Skulls Head, used one of the icons of the LoS and the Cleaver, also used the skull from the Helcannon from WFB.

 

Still works and detailes to had, but i really like his Chivalrous, yet Evil and cruel look he gives.

So lately i've beeing doing reworks on my Reaver Bikers and my Biker Lord.

Since a few days, i use this Lord with his Superbike has my JuggerAxelord, afterall the model is really awesome, and the bike is unique and huge enough to be different then other bikes, and if someone says anything i juts tell them that this is a Possesed Bike of Doom!

I really love that new "Blood for the Blood God " paint, the wet and fresh blood look of it is really awesome, its close to whar Lonewolf do on his models for the gore.

Yeah finaly found a way to make a Kitbashed Dreadclaw, that actually looks close to a Dreadclaw.

The thing of putting the fines upside down on a Pod is nice and quick, but its not enough to satisfy me.

WHile you have a higher bits count, the result is worth imo.

Still need to close the gaps, add in details and other chaosy goodness.

Here you go, now i've a hard time imagining that people actually hated the model, i mean its a really good and dynamicly posed model, very aggresive looking.

 

I find it to be tone of the best SM characters form the 90's.

I like how well you integrated the claws into the metal arms.  Definitely makes for a nice khorne conversion.

 

Yeah I agree, he was very dynamic and definitely not a bad model, but everything I ever read was to his dislike - including the majority of the posts on threads like 'worst SM minifig' etc from what I remember.  Makes me wanna buy another and convert it :D

Those are blood and skulls industry LED kits, and they are really good for a 10$ kit, 4 Leds+Wire+Battery case.

Now only to figure how to make smoke effect coming from the exhausts pipes and the nose and that would be perfect...

there are plenty of smoke effects available for model railway hobbyists (for their steam trains). I think you just need an open-topped container for the liquid.

After what seemed like a non ending pause because well...reasons, i finally got my hands dirty again.

 

FInally decided to buy a HH Khârn, since GW still din't made a new model for the guy, i will be doing my own(with black jack and strippers...no wait wrong univers)

Still unsure how i will base him, either in a leaping pose in mid air by using the tail gimmick of the original model, or like the other maulerfiend taking stance on a ruin or an Imperial vehicle/dread...
