Carcharodons!(Them New Age Space Sharks)

Recommended Posts

Great work so far, and I love the blood splatters as well. Do they have 'ardcoat over the top of them?

The land raiders sponsons look a bit too long or was that how it's supposed to look.

Anyway keep up the great work and don't stop updating.

Well, it seems like not many people really want to respond or anything, so I'm just tempted to stop updating.

I know exactly how you feel. My first WIP thread a couple months back suffered the same fate.

I'm going to watch and comment on this thread just because of that. Not much I can give you in the way of advice as it is, but it is looking pretty nice ;)

Dude. Righteous. ;)

Hah, no Ardocat oddly enough. Tamiya Red is naturally that vibrant.

And for the sponsons, I'm starting to think it's an optical illusion, because in person they look perfect.

Lovely job on the MkII Crusader - I have turned one into a Redeemer for my Minotaurs and its a thing of beauty.

Don't get too disgruntled m_m - its a lovely force and the gore looks cracking

i love the crusader and the gore looks fantastic in my opinion ;)

and i know what you mean about lack of replies, my night lords WIP is getting more and more views each day, but just a few people leave comments,

but nonetheless, i keep churning out new models and let the lack of comments fuel the rage of my forge :D

so keep it up, i'll be watching from the maelstrom!

Lol, not bad a plan you have in motion.

I like the look of your army so far. Please don't get discouraged by a lack of replies, the B&C has its slow days once in a while. I am currently gathering parts to make a Carcharodons force using mostly FW armor variants and your topic has inspired me to pick up the pace and actually start assembling and painting some stuff soon. I may have missed this but I was curious as to what you were going to use for the chapter symbol, freehand or transfers? I am torn on the subject and am hoping that Forge World will release a transfer sheet soon and make up my mind for me. Thanks for the inspiration and please keep posting updates for us to enjoy.

Oh! How did I miss this!?

For the models, I'm waiting for about two months(or less) for Forge World to release their transfers. Reason being, is that I emailed them a week ago, and the response I got told me that transfers were being released in that time-frame of two months.

So, get crackin! We must get as much done as we can for the transfers! :D

Love the painting, especially on the Captain, really looks menacing.

I don't think I've ever seen a great looking Space Sharks army but here's surely one in the making.

Hmmm, maybe a bit of plasticard to make the sponsoons all one section and make the... joint?... not exposed? Unless, of course, you want it exposed

Must have been the camera angle then that made them look too elongated. Good investigating with the transfers as well. :)

Thanks man! :)

FFFF- YES. Feels pretty good on my end, right now. :D

For some odd reason, I kind of like the semi exposed look.

Like, it's a modification of purpose, ya know?

I get what you're saying. Hmmmm, now I'm of two minds about it. Either way could - and would - look pretty good, but perhaps have a few more people see what they think?

Definitely. I'm also wanting to look for a good middle ground too. I'd like to have the full rate of movement for the sponsons while looking protected. :D

the crozius is a tad bit too long, you might want to cut it down just a little bit.

other then that, it looks great!

Blasted angle!

Still looking too long? I didn't change anything.

Personally I'd remove that rectangular bit under the crozius head, to me it seems superfluous. But it's your chappy mega, if you reckon it's good in your eyes, I shan't whine. :)

Hmm, I'll probably trim it down tomorrow. Can't do much "hobbying" today, but it'll definitely get cropped tomorrow.

MASSIVE UPDATE!

Well, with all my pieces having arrived, I set to work on building the force and dabbled in some test schemes to boot. Some of these models have been stripped clean from prior armies, or acquired and saved from Ebay. Every model deserves another chance!

Mind you these models need some extensive cleaning and weapon drilling, as well as basing!

great looking squads you have there, nice use of bits, they are going to look great painted up. Land raider looks good too, how did the kit go together, was the resin badly warped?

Righteous, thanks bro!

The kit wasn't bad at all. I've built a MKIIB kit before fore my Ultras with Ultramarine doors to boot, and it was pretty damn simple to make, yet fun to build.

This time with the kit I had only one minor issue, which was the back exhaust vent-casing. It was a tad smaller, almost as if it had shrunk ever so slightly, and fit a little more loosely. It wasn't a problem in the slightest, as I just inserted the piece after letting the rest of the hull dry while being pressed together between my palms. Though, I did notice this time around that there was a large amount of the post-cast resin oils on the model; perhaps more-so than any other time Ive had built Forge World stuff. Still comes off just as easy after you spray it with some Simple Green though, let it sit for 20 minutes, and just wipe off with some tissue paper(or something similar). ^_^

I really like the mixed armour in those squads, it gives each marine a personality. As Natanael said the crozius looks fine a like a two-handed weapon to boot ^_^

Keep up the great work.

Christ, you really went to town on that lot, didn't you? They all look good, as far as bare models can, and I particularly like the kitbashing you've done. Also, the crozius looks better now, definitely a two-hander though.

Yeah, I was hoping to make each marine very individual, but also coherent with the force.

Im glad the effect ran through. Also, see the comment below.

Thanks bro! Converting is perhaps my favorite part of the whole hobby. :)

Haha, then it's decided! It's name will be"Glorificus Virga Pulsus". Roughly translated into the "The Glorious Beating Stick" :(
