13th Company

The 13th is perfectly representable from the current Wolves codex. Wolves have never been masters at Warpcraft (read; Psychic Powers), they have no allowance for vehicles, and they must scrap together armor from their fallen foes; I'd wager Terminator Armor is not a common thing, even among those that us 13th kill in the Warp. Moreover, the inherent bonuses that Grey Knights get come nowhere near 13th-Company calibre, and their organization is so far above and beyond the 13th that from a fluff perspective, it'd be nigh unjustifiable.

If you'd like, I can get into a LOT more reasons. However, as it stands, it'd be sketchy at best and might reek something fierce of the good ol' "Codex Hop Powergame."

No offence to the OP,the space wolves board is the last one to ask this question - so well done wolfies!!!

Personally i think GK cannot represent anythign but a DiY chapter.Ill accept Logan/DW for 1st co forces, BA for world Eaters and even Templars for Marines Malevolant, but GK is too elite i feel.

Any chance you've got some reasoning? Your ideas would be quite interesting. I personally can't see it, though.

Everyone can teleport and all have elite weaponary, kind of the sort of idea you can imagine after spending a long time in the warp.

The idea has merit, considering how spending so long in the warp would make you elite and the weapons collected over the years would probably make simlar equipment possible and would probably make you more then a bit supernatural. It's a workable concept.

That being said, since Grey Knights are just another Marine chapter that can be repersented by just about anything (highly elite, sounds like a first company given a bit of spit and polish and high lethal rates, sounds like a typical marine chapter to me!) theres nothing techicanally stopping you from doing this, just as displayed, it would irritate the more fluff driven, which is something to consider. I personally am not, though I understand the concern.

Brothers,

I'm a huge fan of fluff.

My thoughts were exactly on the same line of Brother Wysten's. After so many years in the warp, salvaging & repurposing any equipment, psychic powers more prevelant within the pack due to the influence of the warp, the marines themselves becoming even more elite, the non-marine characters (assasins, henchmen, etc) in the codex could be other loyal stragglers picked up in the warp that have now banded with and support then 13th (could be in the same manner as the Skald from "Prospero Burns").

I think the SW dex represents them better.

My personal opinion is that the mark of the wulfen is a defense against the machinations of chaos and that you'd see way more SW's becoming wulfen/controlled wulfen vs having more attaining psychic powers. I do feel the Rune Priests would become more powerful.

Essentially, I think the EoT dex really captured the 13th company force and I'd utilize the current dex before anything else. This is coming from someone who does not mind count as. I just don't the 13th company fits.

I do think the GK dex could be used for Chaos marines and some Codex marines like the Relictors. T.Sons(psykers) and Red Corsairs(henchmen=human reavers) are chaos forces that come to mind.
