kharn_the_betrayer
I am just wondering what your favorite model to paint is and why? Mine is just about any generic HQ as I just pour time into them and make them look the best in my army. kizzap88
To me, the more fun models to paint are the ones that you have put the most time into. I think the model I have had the most fun painting recently is a model that I converted. It was a simple conversion but I enjoyed painting it because it was something I had spent a lot of effort putting it together.. Wont get played that much but looks dynamic and i like it. Was kitbashed from Death co parts, and one of the old Masters of the Chapters from the apoc range. Durus
From the SM range it would have to be the old metal scouts or any chaplain model, 2nd edition or older. The scouts because they really are a joy to paint and the chaplains because they are my favorite part of the SM background. DV8
Any model with a color scheme I never have to paint more than once. DV8 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224890-your-favorite-model-to-paint-and-why/#findComment-2691005 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Ditto. The largest number of single-scheme painted models I have is something like 12 for the Ultramarines. The rest are just randomly spread among chapters. Dave the Twisted
For painting, I love metal models, preferrably Vanilla marines veterans. If it's plastic I'll be too tempted to focus on the modelling Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224890-your-favorite-model-to-paint-and-why/#findComment-2692698 Share on other sites
Cpt_Reaper
I really enjoy painting my ye olde venerable dreadnought, it just never gets boring. I get to paint large flat areas, small bits of detail and mettalics. It has it all. Terminatorinhell
I love painting each reincarnation of my chapter master.. as of now I am trying to do glazing and making a good non-black black, basically a super dark grey. Lord Typhon
My Dark Apostle conversion. Uses the Terminator Lord 2 (the metal one from GW), the tops from the staffs of two Sorcerer with Plasma Pistol (one that looks like a orb with an Iron Halo around it), the plastic rock from the Plastic Chaos Lord and perhaps 8 different colours on his armour alone...and that's WITHOUT taking into account mixed shades. I'm particularly pleased with his robe, though I'll be taking time to add scripture to every plate of his TDA when I can find a decent Jeweler's magnifying glass. Reason I like that is because I spend so long planning the conversion and it's nice to see the idea made manifest. Either him or my Typhus...but I'm too nervous to post a piccy of him since my camera skills suck worse than a blackhole and they wouldn't do him justice! Reason I like this model is because I'm a Deathguard player, and the character appeals..so why not enjoy the model eh? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/224890-your-favorite-model-to-paint-and-why/#findComment-2693233 Share on other sites
