WYSIWYG? I'd green stuff some little mechanical widgets on their hands, just like the real models have. As they "morph" every anyway, yes it's perfectly acceptable. Where I play we don't need even 50% GW parts (this wouldn't be the first time I field units made of..."toys"), as long as it looks good and makes sense. Rule of cool here! Thriftiness isn't half bad either.

You know, I fully agree with this, as I've already planned a few good substitutes for oh-so-expensive henchmen, but as I do move a lot I also have to plan for the worst, that is, strict FLGS owner or GW rules. Sigh...

By the way, where would be a good place to ask if my planned substitution would be viable as henchmen? Here, or in the modelling subforum?

For my Jokaero I think I'm going to use my old sage models. Sure they aren't cool space monkeys but they do kind of fit the role. I will get the official model of course but I don't need any more cloned units in my combined =I= army thanks.

Also forgive me for saying this but I couldn't help noticing that the horror models had some potential for conversions. Obviously stick to 4 limbs and they shouldn't really be on fire but it might be a starting point if you wanted lots of them. If all else fails they can be dead daemons on your bases. I will now complete a crusade of redemption for suggesting using daemon models in a GK army...

I've been thinking of my sage as a base for a count as Jokaero.

I'll take an actual monkey too in another squad.

:eek

Those are some of the ugliest models I have ever seen, even worse than the Stormraven or Dreadknight. A plastic monkey that you can buy in those barrels of zoo creatures is better. Please, let this be an early April Fool's joke.

As standard the model is rather...aesthetically unpleasing. howeve, when I saw it my mind put a white lab coat on the model and yelled out "Captain Simeon and the SPAAAACE MONKEEEIES!". I hadn't remembered that old cartoon in ages and the Jokaero reminds me of the lab monkey with the split personality.

Greenstuff a lab coat or a set of over-alls and a...-ahem-monkey wrench. Would look more repectable and less like a childs-cartoon-character

To think Squats got Exterminatus for being too 'silly' but Space Orangutans are totally fine?

Not only that but the model is f'ugly and really something with that kind of tech only really belongs in a Tau army.

Needless to say I'm less than impressed.

For around the price of two Jokaero, you can buy 20 Skaven Plague Monks to convert into Jawas. If I was going to play a Jokaero army, that's what I'd do.

Hey plague monks are going to be my rogue psykers, just going to whack some IG heads on them.
