From beyond reality, Daemons incessantly scrabble and claw at the minds of mortal men. The evil bubbling forth in the souls of the heretical constantly strains at the seams of the very fabric of space and time. From one breach, enough foul beasts may pour forth to consume and damn billions of Imperial souls.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Daemon Hunter, a supplement for Dark Heresy. The Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus and the Space Marines of the Grey Knights are the chosen warriors of the God-Emperor, tasked with keeping humanity from falling into darkness. They hunt tirelessly to rid the Imperium of their collective prey: Daemons.

Daemon Hunter is a powerful resource for any Dark Heresy campaigns featuring the servants of the holy Ordo Malleus of the Inquisition. With information and background on the Ordo Malleus in the Calixis Sector, the Daemon hunter’s trade, and the Malleus armoury, Daemon Hunter is the perfect companion for players and GMs alike who wish to craft exciting campaigns for Dark Heresy.

Learn the ropes of daemon hunting with an extensive look at the origins and status of the Ordo Malleus. Then, take up arms as an acolyte in service to the Ordo Malleus by becoming a Banisher, taking the fight to the daemons. Also, learn the tools of the trade by studying the Malleus Armoury, which presents new tools for every tier of character.

Finally, Daemon Hunter includes everything players and GMs need to include Grey Knights into their Dark Heresy campaigns!

And did we mention Grey Knights?

Hamina hamina hamina... :D

So apparently they'll have classes and scenarios for both Dark Heresy and Deathwatch, to either play as a Banisher or living the dream and rolling a Grey Knight. Can't wait for it to come out, I'm sure it'll have better fluff than what Ward wrote up for us. ;)

This is a relief, ever since I saw what Ward did to the Grey Knights (sob...why oh why?) I was hoping this would happen, there is little they could do that is worse then ward, and the rest of their stuff has been great, so I think we can say this may well be the salvation of the Grey knights.

Anyone else think 4ok has come full circle now? it started as a sci fi role playing game, became a table top wargame, and now Ward's desecrating the fluuf and hobby everyone likes, we are all turning to the role playing game for decent fluff.

Anyone else thinking the Fantasy flight roleplaying games are going to be the method how the 40k/fantasy univereses are going to survive Ward? (not only is he destroying the cannon, I would not be suprised if his poor fluff writing becomes the straw that broke the camels back for a lot people who decide to stop buying 40k (like how after what he's done to the grey knights, I have promised myself not to buy anything new from GW for 40k and am waiting to see the new Tomb Kings book to see if that should extended to fantasy) which in itself is the straw that breaks GW's back as people just stop buying there stuff due to the poor fluff and go to do play fantasy flight's games?

You are not alone, Ridcully! I have thought all those thoughts, and more.

The fluff for Ultramarines in Deathwatch turned them into Reasonable Marines, so I have high hopes for the Grey Knights here.
As an added bonus, it'd be the most recent material and on that basis could be used to trump the Ward Writings. There are a lot of folk who divide the views into two camps, most recent takes precidence or original takes precidence. With this we may be able to cut the Wardian era very short indeed.

It's enough to make me question my policies of studio fluff supremacy, but I'll certainly rate FFG as a higher canon than anything by the BL.

Forgot the third camp: Some presumptions on the myth of canonical hierarchy put the latest codex at the top regardless of what is released before or after, at least until the next codex. The kind of reader that believes anything overlapping the latest codex is irrelevant if it's from subsidiary company release, as it 'falls further from the tree'. Personally I'm all for throwing beliefs on these structures out of the window. Where the fluff overlaps the decision is up to preference. In any case, if these FFG publications are as good as they're sounding then they'll have no problems competing and even meshing with the best of it.
