Chucku
So I played a game with the new Codex earlier this week and ran into powers requiring Psychic Tests yet now listed as Psychic Powers, besides activating a Force Sword. The one I can recall is when the HQ Champion died and he got his strike and take the opponent with him chance. There was a Psychic Test but it wasn't a power. I had at least one other similar instance in the game but can't recall what it was. How does this meld with the IC or Squad's Psyker abilities as far as uses per Turn? Are they like Force Weapons (which are explicitly described as being a Psychic Power, though these are not, they just require a Psychic Test)? Or am was I missing something? RedemptionNL
Both Herioc Sacrifice and activating Nemesis Force Weapons (they're a special kind of Force weapon) are psychic powers. Basically, all psychic powers are psychic powers. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225090-what-psychic-powers-are-actually-psychic-powers/#findComment-2693389 Share on other sites
ToI
Heroic Sacrifice is listed (I believe) under the psychic powers section of the brotherhood champion's entry, therefore you can only use it if you have a remaining use for the turn you are in of a psychic power. number6
If you have to pass a psychic test, it's a psychic power. B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225090-what-psychic-powers-are-actually-psychic-powers/#findComment-2693505 Share on other sites
Chucku
That's what I thought. But some of them were sort of 'stealth' powers that snuck up on me as I was playing. "Oh, I have to roll a Psychic Test for this? I didn't know that. It's not listed as a Psychic Power..." Good to know! Karsus
so activation of force weapon or heroic sacrifice can be blocked with psychic hood and/or runic weapon? Zagman
so activation of force weapon or heroic sacrifice can be blocked with psychic hood and/or runic weapon? Yes, as Number6 stated, if it requires a psychic test it is a psychic power and can be blocked through conventional means. So everything listed under the psychic powers entry for units is a psychic power, as well as activating nemesis force weapons and everything in the psychic powers section of the codex. Each of these also counts against the maximum psychic powers you can use per turn. This means that you cannot use heroic sacrifice on a turn you have cast hammerhand in the same turn. This also includes fortitude for AVs. I wonder how many points worth of models a farseer can kill without ever getting out of a transport or casting doom...
