Brother Captain Ed
Quick question: I'm sure it's been asked, but I didn't see it in my quick search and have to run. So apologies. So, Sisters can't include Allied Space Marines in their army. No problem. Can Space Marines include Allied Sisters in theirs? Sorry for the question, but the Allied rules confuse me. AlexHolker
There is no restriction on Allied Sisters in Space Marine armies, as far as I can tell. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/225139-sororitas-allies/#findComment-2694298 Share on other sites
RandomGuy
Yes space marines of any chapter can take sisters as allies currently. However this is likely not to be the case in a year or so when a new book is released. Also it's worth pointing out that you're still bound by the restrictions in the WH book, so no assassins without an inquisitor, and no Arcos without a priest. Chengar Qordath
On a related note, do people think it would be legal to take Sororitas Allies with Codex: Grey Knights? After all, one could argue that Codex: Grey Knights falls under the aegis of "variant Marine Codex" in the list of armies you can take WH allies with. Fredegar Kadere
With the Space Marines, the Witch Hunter codex states that Sororitas can be allied into a Space Marine codex army. Vulkan led lists are probably one of the most common since it has such great synergy. With the Grey Knights, due to how the Witch Hunter codex has the allies rule stated I would assume so, provided the Grey Knights are considered a loyalist Index Astartes chapter. This goes against the spirit of GW's recent changes so would probably hold little to no water at any official sponsored function. There is a little blurp in the Grey Knight timeline about the Grey Knights using the innocent blood of the Sisterhood to banish some daemons.. I am going to assume the worst in that blurp and consider the Grey Knights as killing some Sisters off to acquire said blood. Two twenty woman squads of Battle Sisters to be used as fodder has some justification there. Something to note is that GW has removed the ally rules in all the later codex releases and removed the ally rules from the free pdf's of Daemonhunters and Witch Hunters. Many tournaments no longer accept allied armies. Friends probably wouldn't mind, but strangers may call it a different kettle of fish.
