Freeze33 Posted March 20, 2011 Share Posted March 20, 2011 So I have started a side project of salamanders, I am going to take my time with these guys and try my best at painting them. I am also getting a lot of conversion stuff from chapterhouse for my terminators/landraiders/rhinos, so I will take pictures as I convert stuff too. I usually try and just get army's painted quickly so that I can play and don't do a whole lot of conversion, so this is a new type of project for me. I am usually of the mind frame of not playing until I have an army fully painted. Hopefully I can learn some new techniques and try some cool stuff as I get further into the army. This is also the first time I am doing a WIP so bear with me as I learn to take better pictures and stuff. To match the mud and such on the feet I will probably do a marshy muddy grass type base. I still don't know yet. I mean black? like, black, black. Black people are already ridiculously under-represented in the 40k universe but now they made the only black Space Marine legion into actual coal black people. Not cool. They've always been that way. GW just wasn't very clear about it before. There are no "black" Space Marines because all Marines end up looking like their Primarchs and all the Primarchs were clones of The Emperor who was....also not a black guy. I still don't know which way to go with the bases yet. I think I am going to do a deserty thing with them I just want something to contrast the green. Now that the ironclad is done its time to start termies... but here is the Ironclad finished. The land raider will be next I think, then some dudes, then vehicle then dudes. I have been trying to paint that way so I don't get too burned out on painting one type of unit.
