Oli's WIP Marines

JetfireUK

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

Well I made a start with my Legion of the Damned. I have three blister pack figures who I've used as test minis. The beakie helmeted chap is the closest to completion with the Heavy Flamer chap needing the backpack and fine tuning.

I've taken a few shots so that you can see the flame motif. Overall I'm fairly happy with these - the bone needs a bit of work on the backpacks but its okay. The armour still needs the chipping applied to it.

The minis are lovely sculpts and I hope that have all three of these finished this week and have the boxed set of five cleaned up next weekend ready for paint.

Enough rambling - what do you think so far?

Hi Folks,

Here's just a little update on my squad of five Legion of the Damned. I've got the base coat of Regal Blue/Chaos Black done, the bases prepped up and started work on the flames and the bone.

Hopefully I'll have one of these done over the week.

Hi Folks,

Here's a shot of how things are looking on my Legion of the Damned squad so far. None of these are finished - although they are about 90% done.

Hopefully by next weekend I should have the squad finished up and I'll post pictures of all my LoTD troops then.

Hi Folks,

Wow, has it been that long since I've put an update on this blog?!

Just so you know that I haven't disappeared off the planet (or forum for that matter!) I thought to add a few WIP shots of my Grey Knight Terminators. None of the models are anywhere near finished but things are coming together.

Photos to follow next weekend where I hope to have the main parts of each body done and the flock sorted on the bases. What do you think so far?

Hi Folks,

Since completing my Grey Knight Terminators I've been working on a Strike Squad this month. Here's where I've got to so far.

Cheers for the kind comments MithrilForge and Brother Dakath.

The blades are painted using 5 colours and mine are layered - compared to Garfy's superb blending.

Chaos Black

Regal Blue

Enchanted Blue

Ice Blue

Skull White

Start with a base of 60:40 Regal Blue and Chaos Black.

Choose two points on the blade where you want to have the lightest areas - it's best to choose two points on each 'half' of the blade

At the lightest area layer or blend a mix from Regal Blue to Enchanted blue and gradually work through to a finer line made up of 60:40 Ice Blue and Skull White

Don't worry if you run over to the other 'half' of the blade. You can correct it afterwards by re-applying the base colour.
